This review addresses a pattern of concerning service and food safety practices at the Bahama Breeze location in Charleston, South Carolina. Having visited this establishment three times, I've concluded that the issues are systemic and pose a risk to public health, especially for individuals with dietary restrictions. My first visit, approximately six months ago, was marked by a significant lapse in kitchen hygiene. The food was served on a plate that had visible, unwashed food residue on the underside. While a manager offered a re-make, this incident highlights a critical failure in the dishwashing and quality control process. My most recent visit on Wednesday. September the seventeenth two thousand and twenty five was equally, if not more, concerning. I arrived shortly before closing (15 minutes before) with the simple intention of ordering a single cocktail; and meeting a family member who was already there. My request for a classic, neat Old Fashioned, made without any sugar, was explicitly communicated to the bartender, along with the reason for this request: a diabetic medical condition. Despite this clear instruction, the bartender proceeded to add a sugar-laden ingredient—Sprite—to the drink. When I questioned the contents, she repeatedly insisted that I “just try it” and was evasive about the ingredients. This profound disregard for a communicated medical need escalated into a hostile confrontation. When I prepared to take a Selfie photo of me in the bar area—as I always do to document my reviews—the bartender began verbally accosting me, yelling, “Don’t you take a picture of me!” She then falsely accused me of taking her picture to the manager and demanded I delete the photo. She yelled at the manager from the bar area.Tell her to delete that photo right now. As a published journalist, I am well aware of the etiquette and legalities surrounding photography. I clarified to her that my intention was only to take a selfie photo of myself at the establishment to accompany my review. The manager had to intervene to get the employee to stop yelling. The combination of these incidents—a dirty plate pointing to a fundamental breakdown in sanitation and a bartender's intentional non-compliance with a medically critical request—demonstrates a severe failure in professional standards. This experience was not merely inconvenient; it was dangerous. The hostile and aggressive behavior from the employee when I didn't want to "just try it" because of a serious health concern is deeply unprofessional and inexcusable. I hope this feedback serves as a critical alert to corporate management to re-evaluate its training protocols and commitment to food safety and...

Where do I start... When we entered we met 3 people at the hostess station. The one who checked us in was nice but the one who seated us was unbelievably rude. We asked to be seated outside and when we got out there she seated us at the table closest to the door.. my husband didn't like that spot so he asked if we could have a different table... When this happened she, I kid you not rolled her eyes so hard I thought they would fall out of her skull.. anyway we thankfully were served by a much different person than the hostess. She was incredibly sweet and helpful! Alli was a wonderful person and server!

Now for the food.. we ordered the 16 dollar crab dip and chips and it was extremely disappointing for the price... It has no seasoning.. it was SO BLAND and lukewarm... We were hungry so we ate it anyway and figured it was just a mistake but didn't mind... Then our main dishes came out. . . Jerk chicken was really good I have no complaints it was very clearly seasoned. My dish however the seafood paella was so insanely bland it was inedible... The most seasoned thing on there is the prepackaged rice they use.. the chicken was unseasoned in the dish so were the scallops, shrimp, and mussels... Not a dash of seasoning on anything... It was so incredibly disappointing.. our server was very sweet and was not surprised that the food was very unseasoned.. she was happy to make it right and replace the dish with something else but I just told her I didn't want anything as my husband was pretty much done eating. She took the meal off our bill but it was still a 50 dollar bill for the food... Definitely not worth it. . . I honestly don't understand the reviews because the food sucks .. the rice is prepackaged and in so many of the dishes offered... And to top it off they can't even season the meats it's just thrown in there... I do not recommend this place. It's a tourist trap.. there are a lot better places to spend 60-70+...

The server we had was more than disrespectful she not only forgot our food order twice, but also forgot our drink order to the point where I had to order a whole Nother drink upon receiving my drink just to make sure I had what I needed due to the fact of the lack of service that was given, and honestly the complete disrespect that the server and all other participants gave us they were extremely disrespectful. The server gave us so many dirty looks because of the fault that they made, and they didn’t want to own up to it. And on top of all all of that, that I explain Of fries took an extremely long time an hour and a half just to receive a basket of fries, which is honestly ridiculous for a basket of fries that all you have to do is fry it and put it in a bowl even if there’s seasoning or any other little add-ons, it does not take an hour and a half to make a basket of fries on top of that I have worked in the food industry for five years the unprofessional and disrespect we received from the server would not fly at any restaurant or Any food chain in the world, and I will say that the manager was kind enough enough to give us a gift card, but I generally feel like the amount of disrespect we received at that did not warrant that the server gave us mini dirty looks out through our night, as well as the fact that we continuously waited for my order my friends order my drink order which again that made me have to order another drink so that way I didn’t have to wait a whole another hour for my drink and all around a very upsetting disrespectful and unprofessional experience I received at this establishment and I don’t get to go out much and tonight was the night. I got to go out and enjoy myself and this is the kind of experience I received 10 out of 10 do not recommend. and this was my first time even going to this restaurant so that just adds to...
