Had the most horrible experience today. Being called RUDE loudly so that other customers could hear. My wife upstairs didn't hear it, but did hear my reaction to it. I had asked prior to speak to the store mgr. After about 15 mins a supervisor came over ,I asked her if she was the store mgr, she said no. So I asked for the store mgr name n number, she said that she was in a meeting. So I asked if she had the District Manager name and number, she again said no.. So I then proceeded to go upstairs to the office. I went in , the door was open, and just by chance who did I run in to the store mgr. So I proceeded to tell her my experience. Then I asked for the DM name n contact information. She left and about 7 mins later ,low and behold Brain came out, the DM .So I again told my story. He listened and apologized for the entire exchange. Normally I would leave it there. But I asked him to come downstairs to speak to the salesclerk. He told me of the unique problems with trying to hire and train and retain , quality employees, which is all very good and all. But the fact that this young lady was a very poor associate, her customer service skills deplorable! I did offer my apologies to her for raising my voive, and she then apologize to me in return, but now after thinking about it, really didn't think she was very sorry, or that she was wrong. I shouldn't had apologize to her, I don't think I was in the wrong . The DM then went on to meet my wife and offer her his apologies for the entire event. By offering her an additional 20% of any item my wife wished to purchase then, or at another time. I think that was very low in my opinion , of an sincere offer of an act of trying to win a customer's loyalty back. We are done with JC Penney not just this store , but the company as a whole. I hope this goes out to other customers, .I will be spreading the word on Facebook, Twitter, and any other social media I think of, to all my family...
Ā Ā Ā Read morethe escalator going down was out of service. there were no signs or anything to notify us of where the nearest elevator or stairs were to get us to the first floor so we made the decision to walk down the escalator (of course this was not something that we wanted to do or were just doing for fun or to be purposely reckless as i was with my almost 60 year old father). Zach, apparently the managing assistant, made the decision to SCREAM at us by saying āno guys weāre not doing that!ā (i want to emphasize how loud and rude he was) as if we were children just messing around. As someone who has worked in customer service for years, there were many other ways he SHOULD have spoken to us. we would have totally understood if he said something like āexcuse me, thereās actually stairs that way in the corner of the store, safety is our top priority and thatās the easiest way to get down, sorry about the inconvenienceā but he didnāt. Then, he stormed off while pointing randomly to each corner of the store where apparently the stairs and the elevators were. He was an awful customer service employee and an awful person. Obviously i recognize that walking down an escalator is not the best option but there were no other options presented to us and we all decided that we would all be able to do it. we also made sure there was no one coming up the escalator when we made the decision. He ran away without having a civil conversation and i have never been spoken to like that by someone working customer service. he must be a sad guy to treat people like...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJCPenney 2150 Northwoods Blvd Unit E100 N Charleston SC. In May 2019, I purchased an anklet from this JCPenny store.. After two weeks of wear, it broke. I took it to the store, they sent it off. Two weeks to get it back. Wore it about a week, it broke again. Took it in and the sales lady said some times they buy the jewelry back. We went that route. I went to the store(8-13-19) to have the money refunded to my card or receive cash. They gave me a merchandise gift card. The manager on duty (Brenda Sherill) name given to me by saleslady, would not even come out and talk to me.I was told it was at the discretion of the manager to give back your money. I called the headquarters office and was told by someone named Ethan, that he would look into it and call me back š¤ A few days later, I spoke with Shelia, same conversation with her š¤No call yet.I bought a protection, no refund for that either. I used the gift card at another JCPenney store in another state. No business of mine will go to the one in Charleston SC. Been a JCPenney a lot of years. No moreš” I gave them one star, but...
