After a long drive to Myrtle Beach from Ohio, we got to the place we are supposed to stay. The home was disgusting. We had to find a new residence for 30 people including 14 High School softball girls. We had stress! After we accomplish this, we were starving as we had not eaten anything since lunch. We decided to go to Flynn's Irish Pub! When we arrived at 10 minutes till 10, we were informed that the kitchen was closed. But the amazing Hostess saw the look on our faces; saw how tired and hungry we were and she said you know what have a seat we'll get you taken care of! We were overjoyed. Then, We got the best service and the best food and the best atmosphere that we could have ever imagined especially going into a place near closing time. We were welcomed, served excellently told stories and felt like they were glad we were there. If you're ever in Myrtle Beach make sure you go to Flynn's Irish Pub as the service, the atmosphere and the friendliness is amazing. Any Irishman would be proud of the Quality of this restaurant!

My husband and I were in town for the weekend and decided we wanted to try somewhere that wasn't a chain restaurant this time and found Flynn's on Google. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and sat, and then an older gentleman came over and talked to us a bit and bought my girls coloring books and crayons. Our server was also very nice and promptly came over top take our orders. I had fish and chips, which was great, and my husband the grouper planks with a spicy tarter sauce. He kept telling me how amazing his was so I had to try some. And yes, they were pretty amazing. We also tried a creamy crab cup and the rice pilaf, which were both really good. We will definitely be returning when we're back in town next month!

Even during off season, I would recommend reservations if you have more than four people, we had five. There was a review that the serving size of the fish and chips was small with a picture, however three at our table ordered fish and chips and all servings were larger than what was in that picture (added my own picture below). The service was a little slow but order was delivered accurately. Flavor was good, nice piece of cod for the fish and chips and my wife had the Rueben sandwich which was also very good. The serving of coleslaw is small, do people not eat it, I would like more coleslaw. Restaurant was very clean, lots of "Irish" drink choices. Prices are competitive for NMB, i.e. affordable.

Cons first, then pros: (I went two days prior to this review)

Cons: We didn't realize the main room closed before the bar area, so we came in 30 minutes before it closed. The lady asked where we would like to be seated, we chose the main room. She dropped her jaw, gave a very obvious look of disgust... Seated us. We all got waters to drink, which she gave another very obvious rude look. (And sarcastically asked to confirm that we all got waters). (Don't worry we weren't cheap with our meals or tips). She could have easily asked us to sit elsewhere, or informed us they have two separate closing times. We really didn't know.

Next, one entree section said, "all entrees except for pasta come with a potato...". So, in that section I asked for a salmon salad, potato, ect. To which a different waitress told me it doesn't come with a potato. I pointed out the menu and she was like, "Oh I see what it says but it doesn't come with a potato". So, the menu was very wrong, or they just didn't want to make the potato that late in the day...

So I got a burger. Asked for it medium. It was well done. My loaded fries with bacon, had fatty ham instead (maybe this is a culture thing, idk. I just scraped it off)

Pros: my family all really enjoyed their food, every other worker was very nice, including our waitress (it was only the one who seated us who was rude). So, maybe I should have rated the place a 4 instead of a 3... Just this review should be a personal rating right? And my experience wasn't great.

But like I said, everyone else was really nice, other than the one lady... And my family all had really good food and enjoyed it. So, it's not...

Dinner on a Tuesday night in July - dining room was quite busy but our server, Candace, did a great job keeping up with our drink refills and getting our food out in when it was ready! Food was great and beer on tap had a very good variety. Ran into one issue with the bill, however, as apparently one of the items we ordered had gone up in price due to a Crab shortage but the menus have not been updated to indicate such...our server had also not been informed as this item was a fish sandwich. When questioned, our server had to ask a Manager for help. The Manager, John, couldn't be bothered to just let her correct the check (or make the correction), instead, he made us wait for about 10 minutes until he was able/ready to come to our table. Instead of just apologizing for the error of the menus having not been updated, he goes into a long explanation of why there was an upcharge, throws the server under the bus and says it's her fault as she should have told us, waits for us to say we really shouldn't be charged the upcharge since we weren't informed, acts like he is doing us a favor by saying "and that's why we aren't going to upcharge you this time but next time we will because you really should have been informed", and then walks away. He did not apologize for making us wait for him to come to our table, did not apologize for the error, did not apologize for anything other than his server (who actually did a good job). So, while the food was good, the service was good, the drinks were good, the Manager could certainly use some retraining on customer service. I've Managed restaurants, that is not...

You have a customer for life!

I normally don’t write reviews but this business deserves to have a light shown on them!! My fiance and I decided to try Flynn’s for the first time this past Friday. First, I want to start by saying that the food is phenomenal- freshly made, quick from order time, absolutely delicious. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was great, it is decorated super neat in there and they had a live band playing so we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Prices were very reasonable, overall 10/10 experience. If this isn’t enough reason to go, let me tell you about what REALLY sealed the deal for us! Unknown to me at the time, I left my wallet at the table, completely full of everything- credit cards, gift cards, my ID, loose cash money, the whole works. I went about the whole weekend not even realizing it was missing since I worked the entire weekend. Monday morning, the owner of Flynn’s hand delivered my wallet back to my address that was on my ID- complete with everything down to the penny inside. I was completely blown away by the honesty, integrity, and hospitality to go above and beyond in such a way. Rest assured that if you choose to dine here, your money is supporting a local business run by honest, hard working people. They have earned customers for life in my fiance and I and I will continue to recommend this restaurant to anyone who will listen. Thank...
