Man, I was hoping to never have to write a 1 star review but I've been given no choice. Buckle up, I have a few things to say. From the moment I saw the sign go up, I got excited. I've been eating Popeye's for decades and I was stoked to have one open so close. Everytime I eat at one it's pretty inconsistent but it doesn't bother me. Sometimes it's great and other times just okay but I'm a fan of the menu so I keep craving and going.
The first time I ate at this location, the chicken was dried out and the fries were stale. I chalked it up to it being their first week and it would improve. Sadly, that wasn't the case. Two more times it was the same if not worse.
I'm a glutton for punishment so I decided to try again two months ago. Surely they had gotten it together by now. Unfortunately, they were closed due to lack of staffing so I didn't get my fix. Three weeks ago I saw cars in the parking lot so I gave it a try. The sign on the door was gone so I pulled through the drive and sat there in excess of 6 minutes and no one ever acknowledged I was there. I was too frustrated to try the dining room so I left.
Today, I went inside. Surely they can't ignore me if I'm standing there at the counter. I stood at the counter watching one older employee working and two others messing around off to the side by the drive through. I made sure to stand in the line of sight but I got the quick glance from one and they continued joking and messing around. I just couldn't take it anymore and left for what will be my final time trying.
I understand that help is hard to find and places are understaffed... My family and I have a lot of patience for this and appreciate those that show up. I also believe that those that show up deserve praise but only if they are there to work. There is nothing wrong with levity and making work fun but it still has to get done. There were 3 cars stacked in the drive thru and me at the counter. It shouldn't be too much for a 3 person team when the food is premade and sitting on the rack. Just so we are clear, if they were working I would have stood there until they could have helped me but not stand there and watch them playing around at 12:00pm on a Friday.
I know it is my own fault for continuing to try and eat here but I was desperate to see this location succeed. If you've had great food and service here, congratulations! You may want to go buy a lottery ticket... you seem...
Read moreThe girl who worked Saturday, 3/20/21 during the time of 9:18 (when we placed the order) to 9:30 from when my significant other arrived was beyond rude. I was on the phone with him and she didn’t even acknowledge his presence for a good 8 minutes in total. When she finally did she told him we are closed with attitude. We were both baffled in the way she did it. He explained that we had placed an order and that it went through and even charged the card at exactly 9:18pm. He got there a little before 9:30 and then was told she would go and talk to the manager and or get us to refund the money back to our card. There was nowhere for us to refund it ourselves. She then asked TWICE what we had and that she would take care of it only to come back to the window around 9:40 saying she can’t do anything about it because they are closed. My significant other asked what time they close because online it says 11 and the order went through. The lady said 10, however we placed it at 9:18pm and had the receipt for proof. She told us she can’t do anything about it and that we can come the next day to retrieve our food. So we asked for a refund instead and was told she can’t do that. So we left with no food and no refund. I’m not upset about not getting our food because I will be going tomorrow to get our refund. Just baffled by the rude customer service he received and the incorrect hours and the fact you can still order at 9:18PM!...only to be told sorry can’t do anything about it. After arriving at 2pm it was 2:38 when still no order while waiting out front. All doors locked. Unable to reach anyone after knocking on door. Called 3 times and let it ring until it stopped. Walk to Drive Thru and was ignored while elder man was talking to manager. I knock again and spoke to a manager don't know but was met with attitude as soon as I told him how horrible the customer service was since they took over the previous Arby's location years ago. He became aggressive and asked refund? Yes. Plus the chicken I said. He said Hell no and waved his hands at me. I told him I will find your DM and he was good with that. He then shoved closed the window as I was asking how long it even took to cook the ghost pepper wings. I needed to complain. I found 2 different answers for headquarters and both numbers did not work. Finally found CS number and got a refund but unable to get information to complain locally. No wonder the employee could care less about it because even the CS line had no info for a Manager, District Mgr, or a Regional manager. So no one will know. This site has 1.5 stars for this location. Well deserved.
