Soleil Bakery at Shady Oaks — Restaurant in Ocala

People. Run, don't walk, then gather your composure and walk in looking like a sane person to this amazing little bakery! We happened upon it by happenstance and, seeing it was GF and had a selection of keto goodies, had to try it. Not disappointed! They were open on a Saturday, outside their normal operating hours, with limited offerings. So, darn. I had to settle for the pumpkin roll instead of the cinnamon roll. And oh my gosh. It tastes just as homemade-good as it looks. I've just heated it in the microwave and am enjoying it with a cup of coffee and don't want this breakfast to end!

They sacrifice nothing in taste for dietary restrictions, as I've experienced at other similar style bakeries over the years. The texture is great. The roll is so soft. My son got a piece of Nutella cake and drooled all the way out the door. We got my husband a guava bar and my oldest the biggest, yummiest looking snickerdoodle, and nothing disappointed.

The gentleman working was kind and so generous with his time. We are visitors to Ocala and he took time to ask questions about our visit, tell us about the shop and its offerings, and just provided some overall old-school, stellar customer service that you don't see in many places anymore. We will definitely be making Soleil a must-go when we are in the area in the future. And we can't wait to try the original downtown location next time. And that...

Words cannot describe how grateful I am to have found this establishment with the help of this app. Please do not hesitate to visit because everything is actually gf. We are so accustomed to asking if something is gf, but we do NOT have to ask here because everything is gf AND safe. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, and I shared that I loved her story written on her website. We then discussed the challenges making gf sourdough bread. I tapped into her knowledge of baking, which is very in depth because I have a sensitivity to psyllium husk. She not only shared what ingredient to use, but she also explained what to order at her bakery that does not include any psyllium husk. I never, ever would have known to ask this question. I cannot thank her enough for her support and dedication to make those with intolerances feel welcome and normal. Now for the baked goods review…OMG! The salted caramel cake is divine with a right amount of delicious caramel layers. The chocolate cookie pairs very well with coffee (she adds coffee to the dough). The only bakery where I have seen gf puff pastry (trying that tomorrow). Then for lunch I will try to spinach mozzarella, cream cheese pastry. Oh, I also purchased a loaf of rice flour bread. Yum! We were visiting our daughter this weekend for her birthday and after a lot of research and reading wonderful reviews I ordered a chocolate cake with chocolate icing and roasted strawberry filling from Soleil Bakery. The cake was incredible and far exceeded our expectations!! Being both gluten and dairy free, you could not tell it was allergy free at all. The staff was so accommodating and even used dye free sprinkles to make it super special. When we came to pick up the cake we couldn’t help but try the gluten free/dairy free cranberry orange muffin and Gf/Df breaded pretzel and they did not disappoint either!!! This will become a staple stop as we drive through Ocala. If you’re looking for an incredible allergen free bakery that doesn’t sacrifice taste or texture I would highly recommend...
