Had a generally good experience here. And I appreciated having the little grocery store as part of the business. I ended up buying some snacks, which was a nice bonus.
We opted to dine in, vs getting it to go. Seems most folks get the food to go, as they had people popping in to pick up pretty frequently during our time there.
The dining area inside is quite small and unassuming. They do have a few picnic tables outside though, which get shade in the late afternoon/evening.
We initially ordered some street corn on the cob, but it arrived as loose kernels in a cup. It was then explained that they were out of corn on the cob, which was a bit frustrating, as one member of our party really wanted it on the cob or not at all and we wouldn't have ordered it had we known. That said, I ended up eating the loose street corn in the cup myself, and it was absolutely delicious. The portion was large too.
For my meal, I got the flautas with double rice no beans (a request easily accommodated), which were pretty solid. My husband got a torta and enjoyed it. My mom got the sopas said they were fine. Overall though, I don't think any of us were super enamored with the meal, which surprised me because so many reviews on here raved about the food.
The service was great, aside from the miscommunication about the corn. Very sweet folks running this place. I hate to give a somewhat middling/average review, but it was...
Read moreGreat food, great service! As soon as our family walked in we were greeted with kindness. The service was fantastic! They checked in on us every chance they got and our plates were full the entire time (an epic authentic Mexican buffet!) I haven’t had such great authentic Mexican food since my college days out west. Handmade fresh tortillas are life! I was sooooo happy to see they had piping hot chicken tamales as well 🫔 It seems like a family is running the show which makes it even better. What a gem of a place. We will be back! An added bonus, any establishment that is sweet to our kids gets an A+, they were wonderfully...
Read moreGo here!!! This place was such a find. My niece and I were shopping and she asked if we could get lunch. We got super lucky - La Autentica Mexican Grill happened to be right in front of us. The place looks like a convenience store but don't be fooled by appearances - inside are real street tacos, super delicious! The very nice owner and his wife located from a bordertown in Texas to Ocean City, so again this is the real deal. My niece, who is from Arizona and is particular about her tacos, absolutely loved them as well. This place was also written up by the food critic of the Philadelphia Inquirer, in case you need...
