I find the average reviews are hardest to write. Nothing was wrong or terrible, but nothing was particularly great either. This is one of those reviews. This place is very small. We were seated in the back room, which unfortunately had a bit of a trash can/dumpster smell that lingered. It was off putting but did eventually seem to clear by the time we left, perhaps as the A/C circulated the air a bit? It was not a great start to the meal. I got the flautas, which were... fine. I didn't think they had much flavor at all and I don't really get putting half slices of tomato on top. Diced at least makes them easier to eat with the flautas themselves. My mom and husband's meals were also just ok. Not bad. But not good enough to justify going back most likely. The two salsas that came with the chips were incredibly watery, but what I did taste was again...fine. But you really couldn't get much on a chip at all given the consistency. I did appreciate having Coke and Fanta in the glass bottles - that's always a nice touch.

This restaurant really surprised my friend and I, its actually an authentic Mexican restaurant with really good flavor in their food. I got the enchiladas de mole and thats my favorite dish so I am very particular from where I order enchiladas from, and I loved them! The rice and beans that came with it were also pretty good🙌🏽 my friend she ordered a huarache de pollo and it was so good, hers came with 2 good sized huaraches and she almost finished them both and thats saying a lot! She also ordered an agua de Jamaica (hibiscus iced tea/ water) and it was just the right amount of sweet. The chips and salsa that they give you in the beginning is a good amount and the salsas have a good flavor to them. And we were also shocked at the prices, I would've not minded paying more for the quality of the food, and also the service was great!👌🏽I will definitely be going back to eat here when I'm at Ocean city😌

The half hour wait we were told when we got there was actually over 50 minutes. You need to pay for salsa and chips, which always irks me, but the chips were boarder line stale. The meats were under seasoned and buy "under seasoned", I mean not even salt. The sausage on my Torta Cubana was a hot dog. I was expecting chorizo but a hot dog is a hot dog, and I love hot dogs. Any way, I also ordered a carnitas taco because I'm a big fan of carnitas. It was very fatty but exceedingly delicious. However, the tacos do not come with pico, salsa or sour cream, they are extras that you're charged for. The iced tea is bottled so don't expect free refills but that's okay because it tasted a little off and it's a brand we drink at home so I know what it's supposed to taste like. On the plus side of the ledger, the portions are large. My torta was roughly the size of a Volkswagen.

While on vacation, we wanted to take a day away from the boardwalk (but still within walking distance of our hotel) and starting searching online for somewhere with decent reviews without a crazy price tag. We ended up at Cinco de Mayo after checking out their menu online. It is a small place, so we did have a short wait, about 20 minutes. A few couples and families showed up behind us and had about half an hour. Not unreasonable, I've seen people wait outside restaurants for much longer. Once we were sat, we received our menus and drinks fairly quickly. After we ordered we were brought some delicious chips and 2 kinds of salsa, which was an awesome surprise. Our food didn't take too long, nor did anyone else's that we saw seated near us, even the larger tables. The food was without a doubt, the best Mexican food I've had. It tasted fresh and like it was made by someone who genuinely knows how to cook it right. And for the prices, you just couldn't beat it. I spent about $13 on my meal (just had water, and before tipping) and left insanely full. My friend spent about $10 and couldn't even finish her plate. The waitresses were all very nice, although being busy, we couldn't talk to them much. They ran all over the place to make sure everyone was taken care of. Every person in the building enjoyed their food and I highly HIGHLY recommend stopping in for...

My little family and I tried Cinco De Mayo for the first time during our Summer 2014 Ocean City NJ vacation. My son discovered Cinco De Mayo in an Ocean City book with info about what to see, what to do, where to eat, etc. while in Ocean City. He wanted to try it as he really wanted to try authentic Mexican cuisine. Well, since trying it for the first time we are all hooked! The food was absolutely delicious!!! We enjoyed it so much that we decided to go there for dinner again before heading home at the end of our vacation. Their chili nachos were amazing, my son absolutely LOVED the steak fajitas and my husband and I really enjoyed the fish tacos. The quality of the food was wonderful! Everything was so fresh and so savory. The combination of flavors were incredible! We are already looking forward to going back to Cinco De Mayo on our Summer 2015 Ocean City NJ vacation. We are so happy to know of another great restaurant to enjoy while we are down there. By the way, the service there is also very good, and the place is really pretty- beautiful murals on the walls as well as ponchos and sombreros. The place is so...
