Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Ocean Township

As my night was ending , I realized I haven’t ate dinner so I decided to go to my local Applebees!! I’m not going to lie, the food is never terrible and it comes out pretty fast. I had the wonton tacos that’s always a 10/10 , spinach dip 10/10 & I decided to order some tenders , I only wanted tender and the waiter just made it a kids meal and added fries. For the first time ever the fries was TRASH! But I didn’t make a big deal because I really didn’t want them. However , as I was eating , one of the staff members turned the lights out to where the entire restaurant is dark except for the tvs and someone yells out “Applebees after dark”, I couldn’t believe it. I’m just trying to grab dinner, if I wanted to go to a club, I would have. on top of the kitchen staff laughing and making some much noise. I’m sitting at the bar and all I can hear is this one chick laughing so loud , it was very disturbing!! It’s sounded like a damn circus in there! Finally , the way the staff is talking to eachother saying “yo cuz” like yes I get it , where we are from but at WORK! It felt like I was on the block somewhere. This Applebee’s is really going down hill , management needs to get it together. Very very disturbing. I would rather drive To tinton falls to eat at Applebees. No Applebees is like this! GET...

recently went to applebees for a dinner with the hubby and hoping that the restaurant was complying with all the pandemic guidelines. certainly it was good to see a sparse crowd and food was the usual normal (chicken alfredo and quesadillas). one thing was disturbing however. one of the waitresses was wearing those clear face shields, but no mask underneath. I was afraid to point this out to the staff as you never know what the reaction would be. It was clear that those shields do not prevent the waitress from catching the virus, but worst of all she can easily transmit it as she is physically looking down at the diners (she stands and we sit) without wearing any face covering that would keep her from spreading and spitting out her germs. I think in general, it should be a common practice with or without pandemic for restaurant staff to wear masks, but that is another battle. Let's hope that management reinforces this...

Omg the fries were cold! Not sure is I got the military discount or not! The drinks were disgusting I had ordered the strawberry and mango lemonade they put this sour candy in it. That drink had me throwing up all night… my kids said the burgers were hard and the bread. The tomato and pickle was just thrown on there! No need to leave a tip for all that I went through. Broccoli was disgusting and tasteless. I am just saying the food is not that great anytime I order. You may say why keep going back.. well we do not eat out much so when I do take a chance on going there I am like maybe they have a better cook or maybe one who does not feel overworked another reason I really do not eat out some people do nasty things to and around food. Not sure if the money I spent is worth that honestly when eating out I really thought you were paying for the way you want your food not how they feel...
