Wienerschnitzel — Restaurant in Oceanside

This place normally gets a 5 star rating from me every visit. The staff and management are always friendly and accommodating if necessary The deals available during the week are well worth the price. I love this particular Wienerschnitzels location due to better hours and better staff. For those reading the review, this is usually norm.

But lately official Wienerschnitzels coupon codes aren't always working in their systems, making a quick transaction take much longer because a manager, usually already busy, has to check the coupons and make corrections to the order. And because you don't get your total until the pick up window with coupon codes, you end up trying to get it all sorted out first with the cashier and then a manager and ending holding up the people behind you.

On this visit both employees were very accommodating and the MOD ended up using an open discount to bring the order down to the correct, advertised price. 5⭐ for the staff.

However I was in a hurry and there shouldn't be the kind of delay I experienced in a simple order using a simple coupon code. Customers shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get the order and price as advertised. An NCR/POS system is only as good as corporate updates and system maintenance and monitoring. These types of errors and problems are institutional and unfortunately the customer usually see the store front line as responsible for any corporate mistakes and suffer customer abuse accordingly. Minus 1⭐ for institutional failure.

And a final complaint. The store was out of mustard. To make it especially aggravating they didn't let me know until after taking payment (having already made the relevant coupon correction) and handing me my order. I should have been told as soon as I ordered a hot dog or corn dog.

Normally, in most other types of fast food restaurants, being out of a condiment like mustard isn't a huge deal. With hot dogs and corn dogs at a place that specializes in hot dogs, it is a huge deal. Normally I would have returned the corn dogs and any hot dog that wasn't a chili dog and changed my order. But at that point I was so done with delays so took my complete order instead of having them remove the items that needed mustard. Honestly, I still can't believe a hot dog place ran out of mustard. Corn dogs or hot dogs without mustard just aren't the same. Minus 1⭐ this visit for staff not letting me know when I ordered corn dogs.

Who's responsible for ordering, or not ordering, supplies? I don't know. Whether locally or corporately there is no excuse for running out of something small yet essential to the business.

I understand everyone, people, institutions, companies and small businesses have a bad day but there is an obligation to make it right and immediately correct these any other problems immediately whether it be the location or corporate.

Very slow service. Seems like staff doesn't communicate well about orders. Our order was wrong. Ordered 5 cones along with a few combos. They tried to give us 6 cones because no one communicated that we had already gotten 3 and someone else was trying to hand us another 3. I was honest and only took 2 and started driving away. They asked "you already got all of them?" I replied "yes, I ordered 5" The staff started laughing at something as I drove off. Also, for the first time in many years they they didn't give us a military discount on combos. The young lady said military discounts don't apply in combos and didn't give us any sort of discount even though we bought other things aside from combos. I honestly think she just didn't want to give us a discount. We are not entitled to a discount by any means but I'm just letting you know we had never had a problem getting one in this location or any other locations prior to last night. Also, we ordered Pepsi and Mnt. Dew. We didn't try the drinks until we got home for dinner and noticed the soda syrup needed replacing. The soda had no taste. Who's order did you guys give ME? I just got off work, tired & walked to store #25 at 5:27 pm to Ordered 5 chili cheese dogs for my son. My order was #71. When I made it home which is 2 blocks away I discovered you had given me 3 chili dogs with onion, 2 without & no cheese on either one. Which buy the way my son is severely allergic to onions & is now having an alergettic reaction thanks to your careless employees. Then to top it all off I paid $2 extra for the cheese that wasn't there. It is 6:45 pm & I've been continuously calling your store for a hour & no one has answered the phone to even acknowledge the fact and I'm sure they know buy now because there is 5 chilli cheese dogs unaccounted for.
