Update: The owner responded to my review by accusing me of “bullying a business.” That defensive reply is just as unprofessional as the way my friend was treated in person.
I was there. My friend offered to PAY for a cup of hot water and was berated. Instead of taking responsibility, the owner chooses to attack customers online.
If you want coffee AND respect, go somewhere else.
I’m really disappointed by the experience my friend and I had at this coffee shop. My friend politely asked for a cup of hot water — which she was fully prepared to pay for — and was shockingly berated by the owner. Instead of handling the request with kindness or professionalism, the owner accused her of essentially being a freeloader and using the WiFi for free.
This treatment was completely uncalled for. A paying customer (or potential paying customer) should never be made to feel humiliated or unwelcome, especially over something so minor. Coffee shops are meant to be warm, inviting spaces where community can gather, but sadly, this owner chose to treat people with hostility instead of hospitality. Based off these reviews, this is repeated behavior and based off her responses this is behavior that she justifies.
There are plenty of places nearby that serve great coffee and treat their customers with respect — I’d recommend supporting those...

I came into Jitters Coffee Pub to meet a friend who had already purchased and was sitting down. After settling in, not yet ready to order food, I went to the counter and asked for a cup of hot water from a young gentleman who was super nice. But the owner popped in when she heard that and instead of a polite explanation of their policy, responded with aggressive sarcasm — “Only hot water?” I felt awkward at this point for asking, and said, “Yes, if that’s ok.” She followed with a long, dismissive “okkkkk.”
When I tried to lighten the moment by saying, “Hasn’t anyone ever just ordered hot water before?” she stared at me for ab it before saying, and I quote, she’d never seen someone “not pay for anything and then use the free wifi.” I was stunned. I explained I wasn’t even on their wifi, I had my own hotspot, and I had just met a friend here. But she still doubled down.
When she set the cup of hot water near the cashier, she turned to him, in front of me, and said rudely: “I don’t know how to charge her for that, just give it to her!” Then walked away.
I would have gladly PAID for the hot water if that was the policy, but no option was ever offered. Instead, I was met with sarcasm, judgment, and an unprofessional attitude. Very disappointing experience at a business with such a long history in...
Read moreThe one star is because their coffee was good. Other than that, the THREE times I have came here, it was not busy and yet the female at the counter seemed put out. I'm not a big coffee drinker so I tend to go to Starbucks because I only order one type of drink that's sweet but has something to keep me alert at my job. I asked her if they served something similar and she refers me to menu (which serves the same drink) instead of simply answering yes. I'm a very polite and respectful person, so I don't know what it is about me that seems to draw such a negative vibe from this place and the server?? This place seems to pride itself in being accepting of all people, but maybe I was not eccentric enough to be treated with courtesy here. I think she got that I was annoyed at her flippant attitude because the most I got out of her was a good day as she left my change on the counter, rather than hand it to me. So much for wanting to support my local...
