Food is 5 good STARS.always.. and tasty... Especially on Sundays. Prices used to be 5 but dropped to 2 since the Pandemic began (even though their business has continued at or better than pre-pandemic rates). Explanation: I pulled up to the drive-thru order board and because it was dark, I struggled to read (pulled out my phone flashlight) the small, paper, printed adviser down on the side that stated due to the cost of beef, those items containing beef would incur an additional $1.50 per item charge over the prices posted on the board. Since the breakfast burritos I was ordering are beefless, I wasn't concerned.
Upon arriving at the window, the total price I was quoted (they don't tell you at the board) was much higher than I expected. When I inquired about it, I was told that it was the extra pandemic fee/charge. Further inquiries were limited due to my lack of Spanish language skills. I swallowed hard and paid up -- only because I'd waited in the packed (as always) drive-thru line for more than 15 minutes, knew that options were limited and frankly, I was HUNGRY!
But I got angrier and angrier as I was driving home. And this is why:
As I said above, Beto's maintained and exceeded their pre-pandemic customer numbers. The drive-thru is busy 24/7.
Beef, when purchased through restaurant supply vendors has actually dropped in price due to the number of restaurants unable to continue ordering at pre-pandemic levels. In fact, these suppliers have been offering better cuts at lower prices direct to consumers and restaurants in order to stay in operation.
The EXCUSES posted on the order board are/were inadequate. They were illegible and extremely hard to see. That is, IF you even noticed them placed on the sides of the board.
Actually, NO EXCUSE, legible or not, could justify this overcharge of dedicated customers. I've completely avoided using free food delivery services during lockdown because I saw how it was killing the restaurant's bottom lines. It was me and my father and what we got was a couple breakfast burritos but what happened was horrible and this is the second time that it’s happened there order that was placed from Us was never correct Nora did the guy from the window ask what we had or if it was what we are ordering he didn’t say anything but just told us how much it was and took our money. I am very disappointed for the very poor customer service.
