I've been very excited for this place to open for some time. The Denny's that was here was falling apart and in desperate need of replacement. That being said, what a beautiful renovation that this location completed on this building! The owner is a local business man and it excites me to see a local business joining the restaurants of Belden.
Walking in, the aesthetic is quite amazing. Beautiful water features, awesome use of colored lighting and unique brick designs...just a really pleasant feel to the restaurant. You could tell someone really put their time in to designing thing place and making it fit the Japanese cuisine atmosphere.
Moving on from that, Fuji Sushi offers what I thought to be an extremely large menu for this type of restaurant. Sushi, hibachi, bento boxes, appetizers, deserts and more. If you're a fan of Japanese food you're more than likely to find a couple things you like. My wife and I purchased a Chicken Hibachi and a Chicken Bento box. Both meals came with such an awesome amount of food. You get soup, salad, and then the full meal on top of that. Hibachi chicken included veggie, rice, noodles, and chicken whereas the Bento box included a variety of sushis, rice, rolls, and chicken.
Service was absolutely excellent. I'm not sure where the other reviews ended up having the slow service/bad service experience. We had two girls that seemed to on/off assist us. Waters were always full, food came out like clockwork (salad done, soup is right behind it kind of thing). They were extremely nice and were continually checking in on us.
Overall, highly recommend this on your next adventure out into Belden. I don't know how you can walk away dissatisfied or hungry. An excellent Japanese...
Read moreAfter TakeTatt, where I've been having a tattoo removed, I'd been visiting the food court inside the mall afterward for sushi. But when I went this past Sunday (07/28/24), the sushi place was boarded up. They've gone out of business, dang.
So I googled and found Fuji Sushi about a mile away.
Their fried calamari appetizer isn't great, skip that. Next time I'll get the crab and cream cheese fried wonton.
My main order, the Regular Sashimi, was really good. Twelve very generous sized pieces, 6 white fish, 3 tuna and 3 salmon. Which comes with rice and miso, I asked for extra ginger and he gave me a lot of ginger.
The fruit green tea drink is very ornate. Add the tapioca and aloe jelly.
All together was $40 + tip, which I think was remarkably low priced. Leaving off the fried calamari would have made it $30 before tips.
There's a size above the Regular, for $28, which would be more than enough for 2. Then they have one sized well more than adequately for 3 people as well.
A couple can be in and out of there for less than $55, tips included. That's for excellent quality sashimi plus real exotic (non-alcoholic) drinks. Another $10 or so for saki or whatever, I guess, I don't know about drinks...
Read moreI saw it and I stopped after picking up some oysters at earth fair. I forgot my wallet this day and after earth fair had just $23 in my pocket from my emergency phone case stash.
I am so glad I did. Apparently they've just opened. I got a typical sushi house 3 maki lunch, Alaska, spicy salmon and Boston rolls, w/salad and miso soup. The rolls were the largest I've ever had on a lunch menu. Soup so hot I had to wait, and a larger than typical lunch salad. The rolls were excellent and I will definitely be back to sample more of the menu.
I usually need to ask for more Wasabi and ginger. Not so today.
Jasmine has been my favorite Japanese restaurant in the area. I'll need to do some more testing, but there a chance that Fuji might change that.
An earlier review stated they thought they were expensive. My opinion... only if you are comparing to a typical strip mall sushi place. This facility is new, clean, attractive, comfortable, and much less expensive than Wasabi, a little less than Jasmine, about the same as the place beside subway.
Decor was fresh and restrooms spotless.
If you're a Japanese food fan, do not wait to give Fuji a try.
Well done, and good luck with your...
