We went to Rice Paper for lunch. The food is usually well made. There have been times where it was not the best but I think most places have off days. I went with my co-worker today because she had a meal that was being compensated, due to the restaurant forgetting her food when she placed a to go order over the weekend. She made it home and realized her whole meal was missing, that she was charged for. When she called in they also realized and told her to come back, give her name and they would comp her the meal. So that was part of the reason we went today. When we arrived and were being seated we explained to them about the incident with her meal and it seemed that was when the issue started. The customer service from the younger two ladies that work there was ignorant. They had unnecessary attitudes after being told of the situation. No one was rude to them when saying what happened and no one spoke in an ill manner. We just explained. They took our orders, brought our waters and food. The service was quick. We had placed 2 small to go orders, paid and got up to leave. As we were walking out, one of the younger girls, who had absolutely nothing to do with our service, came out to ask about why there was no tip on a to go order that was placed. So I explained to her it was a to go order. The meal that was eaten at the restaurant was tipped. The compensated meal was not. Also the service was very minimal. There was a tip left on the meal that was paid for and eaten in the restaurant. She then proceeded to say something about us eating in the restaurant and not tipping, which I then explained again, what she was holding was a to go order payment. The food that was ate in the restaurant was tipped. I'm not sure how but when you're not the person who offered service, you were compensating a meal that was already paid for because your establishment messed up that order.....How do you have the audacity to follow someone out the restaurant and ask about a tip on the to go order. There have been 1 star reviews left about their customer service and it explains a lot. It's to bad because the food is decent. But not for the attitude given in such a small place, especially when it is not warranted. There was a lady that worked there who was amazing with a kind personality. I believe her name was Maple. So thank you to her for the kindness and generosity she showed during our short lunch visit. It's to bad they lose customers, who are regulars based off these incidents. Especially being a small establishment where there aren't others that can serve you, so you have to deal with the...
Read more1st time trying Rice Paper & ordered through GrubHub. Ordered Shumai. Upon opening the container I seen what I thought was a few baby scallops for my main dish....NOPE they were the "dumpings". I would compare them to the size of dumplings you find in a can of soup and really were tasteless, definitely not worth the $7 especially if you were anticipating something along the line of a traditional sized Asian dumping. Next I ordered Scallop Eggplant w noodle. At $22 I had high expectations. The flavor was very good. Scallops "the star" were pretty much nonexistent. I did find 8 "pieces"of scallops in the dish (not a single whole scallop, not even a baby). The eggplant was way overcooked with a consistency of mushy slime. As far as the noodles, well I received a perfectly formed noodle in the shape of the take out box. I attempted to separate the noodles but they combined to make a singular noodle block as if they were packed under pressure. Any sort of noodle had to be literally ripped & torn away from the block (not a fan having to wrestle w my food). Would expect to pay $7 - $9 but definitely not $22. The last dish was Avocado Curry which was good & seems to be the winner on this order. In all fairness, I probably would try here again but not take out. I feel if I ate there, I could have pointed out the issues for...
Read moreI am really not happy with my experience here this afternoon. I came to dine in with my office colleagues. I ordered "Crazy Noodle" which was equivalent of the traditional "Drunken noodles". I was really hungry and was expecting a nice savory sweet and spicy noodle dish. I was disappointed to see the dish. It looked like a pale, white, colorless dish with no sweet, tangy, spicy flavors that w drunken noodle dish has. Then I requested the server to bring me condiments - chilly powder, chilly oil, soya sauce. She got me a small cup of chilly flakes with less than half teaspoon of the flakes. On requesting for all the Thai condiments again including chilly oil, soya sauce, Sriracha, she again came back with a small cup with no more than a tea spoon of some hot sauce which was neither hot oil, the chilly powder that they have in Thai restaurants, or soya sauce. I had no option but to put it in the noodle and have the dish. But I was totally disappointed in the dish and my experience. I have had amazing drunken noodles in a restaurant before and this one wasn't any close to it. I am a student and I lost the money that I had saved for to enjoy a good...
