We stayed 2/19-2/28 and wish we would've left sooner. I could look past the dirty bathroom with hair from the previous guest in the tub and the toilet or the microwave caked with food residue. I could look past the cups that had lipstick stains, the torn curtains, and blood stained sheets and pillows. I could look past the broken side door, the trash all throughout the parking lot, and the fact this place is deplorable to say the least and in huge need of renovations there were various spots of mold in the hallways and smelled like mildew and cigarettes. The reason I chose to write this review was bc i was truly upset by the way we were treated as if we were second class citizens by the general manager Alise. Saturday we requested a room with 2 beds since we are here on an insurance stay and with 2 adults and a teenager 1 bed doesn't work and we're told to come back at 3pm and the room would be available. We ask at 3 about the the room and had all of our things packed just to be told they couldn't accommodate us. At this point it is what it is, but we check the website and it shows they had the availability for the 2 bedroom suite through 2/28. I contacted my insurance and they were able to find a hotel nearby and I would've let all this go and moved on, but for the week we stayed there after letting them know we would be checking out early the general manager would go out of her way to NOT say hi or good morning/evening and would actually scowl at us to point we didn't feel comfortable going down for breakfast and my son was scared to use the pool. Prior to letting her know we were leaving early she was super friendly with us. To go from that to purposely going out of her way to make us feel uncomfortable was very odd.On 2/26 at 3:28am they attempted to charge my card $20 which luckily I had froze the day before and when I asked they couldn't give us an answer why and the next day both key cards stopped working almost like it was some sort of retaliation? We will NOT be returning and I've also instructed others not to visit there via social media. It takes zero effort to be decent human being and if anyone should've been upset it should've been my family and I. I'm not sure why the general manager was so unkind. Alisa should be ashamed and forced to take a mental evaluation after how we were treated so poorly and by the way that hotel looked I wouldn't trust her to watch my goldfish let alone over...
Read moreI just came here to give a WARNING! I am an owner of a rec cheer team who travels nationally for comps we stay at various hotels across the nation and when I say this was by far the worst establishment we have ever been to I mean that whole heartedly. Upon arrival we were advised the pool was closed , which we had asked about before getting there and were told the pool was fine we are traveling with athletes 3-18 so some of the younger ones enjoy the pool it was maybe 50 degrees and we were told we could walk across the street to the sister hotel and swim there I said with 3 yos ? In this weather walking back soaking wet? It was oh well. I wish that was the only issue we had. We had a family leave the hotel entirely because there was a literal nest of bugs in their room. The beds had dirty sheets the mattresses had mold all over them, the rooms had bugs and were just covered in filth. Some families weee moved 3 times because of how many issues they had all of this mind you to say we have to be up at out the door by 7:30am we spoke with management that night who advised those who came forward with issues would be comped for their rooms as they should be seeing as the rooms were disgusting. My room the water wouldn’t drain and the pullout couch didn’t work it was sunken in and stuck we had been in a car accident on the way there and we’re just ready to sleep. When we went down stairs the next morning staff had switched the staff who was on including a hotel manager were so rude they basically told us that some of the rooms issues were “unfounded” and they wouldn’t be refunding them.i reached out as a company owner and was advised of the same thing as if anyone here has a reason to lie about a shower not working old food in the fridge dirt in the cupboards, mold on the bed and ceiling. I reached out to corporate bc the location manager litterally yelled at a 9 year old and made her cry saying she needed to have manners mind you this is one of my sweetest girls she’s so quiet. She had an argument with another one of our parents as well. And was basically told it is what it is that the rooms that were infested and disgusting would be refunded well thank god for small miracles but not being able to shower, or use a pull out couch is still a reason to refund. I would highly suggest staying clear of this hotel several of my parents have reveiwed as well because we are all appalled at how...
Read moreI stayed at the Residence Inn from October of last year until late September of this year. Originally it was supposed to be six weeks but the project kept getting extended. Kind of a pain but I got to know the hotel very well. The front desk and breakfast area staff were always friendly, the grounds are nice, it's in a convenient location for the Akron/Canton airport and I was upgraded from a studio to a one bedroom which was nice of them.
My big problem was with the housekeeping staff. Everything was good starting out but I began to notice a few small things missing from my room. At first I put it down to misplacing things, I was in the field up to 80 hours a week and catching up on paperwork at the hotel, so I wasn't sleeping as much as I would have liked and it's easy to lose things that way.
Then housekeeping decided that any loose change I left out (in addition to the tips I left in the envelope) was for them. Maybe my fault, I shouldn't have been leaving the quarters for the overpriced laundry out. I didn't realize it was going to be that kind of situation but that was okay, I can throw the change in the drawer.
I was away from the hotel for a few days and when I finally got back I was ready to relax before the last big push to end the job. But I couldn't help but notice that my laptop was missing from the desk along with a pair of Keen hiking boots.
At that point I notified the front desk. They called the manager who said I could make a police report. After work the next day I did exactly that. Then the hotel manager disappeared into her office and it wasn't brought up again. I got the impression they thought I was scamming them or something and weren't very interested in resolving the situation. So I fixed the situation myself by checking out and finding another place to stay for the last few weeks of my project. I asked what the status of the incident was twice on email and never got a response.
So I'd recommend avoiding this location, there are other Marriott locations nearby as well as a number of competitors. My big problem is that while I'm traveling I really rely on the hotel to keep my room and whatever possessions I leave there safe, whether or not they are out in the open. Residence Inn completely failed me and neither I, or the engineering firm I work for, will consider using this...
