My niece wanted to have a cute dinner for her 18th birthday, friends and family came ect ect. As soon as we walked in the door on a Wednesday, the line is out the door. Thank goodness we had a reservation. You could smell the bathroom even before you could see it. Our servers sucked. We got there at 6 and did not leave until almost 10. Food was mediocre at best, not hot, not cold, just there. There were multiple of the same dish delivered to the tables. One being the chicken and shrimp carbonara. One was picture perfect, the other was made with grilled chicken that looked like they had just grabbed it from somewhere and tossed it on top. The shrimp were translucent because they were so undercooked. Like...this is supposed to be a wannabe Italian restaurant and they couldn't even do the basics. Tour of Italy's, Chicken parmesan, and the carbonara are some of their most frequent dishes....so why can they not even get those right? Drinks say empty for most of our visit. People that arrived later got their dishes before the birthday girl that had already been waiting for an hour and a half with cold bread and eaten salads. No manager ever stopped by. Checks took an hour after we were done eating. A huge 18 of cupcakes sat in the middle of the table. No service person ever offered to move them while we were ordering or eating. It just seemed like overall the whole business was in over their heads and didn't care that we had the unfortunate experience of being drug through it. I have worked in food service for a long time. So when I tell you I tried to make every excuse, even down to helping them pass out meals and clear plates. We tried to give them a pass but it was just that bad. And if my last experience hadn't been similar, I would have just written it off as, they got busier on a Wednesday than they planned for. But when servers are standing by the bar chatting or behind the table put area when we have asked for sauces and drinks...like all the kids shared 1 side of ketchup. Not for lack of asking. But just no one had any direction or sense of urgency. And we still left the young lady the 25 dollars extra that we had planned to just because I know working parties can sometimes not be worth it. So we had already discussed this and had what we were going to give her on top of her gratuity and what she made from the rest of the party. None of them deserve it. The one young lady seemed like a decent server, I'm sorry I didn't catch her name, but she was just in over her head and she seemed to have idiots just slowing her down and her having to fix their mistakes. Hence why we handed her the 25 bucks. I never saw her stop trying. When complaints happened she handled them. I just did not understand why a manager never made it to the table considering that multiple dishes went back to the kitchen with poor quality or incorrect orders. She may have been able to actually serve the party had the manager been doing their job instead of her having to try and fix things and serve her tables. Just an overwhelming disappointment. Olive garden Miller lane has been there too long and is in way to prime of restaurant real estate to suck this bad on a repetitive basis. My mom paid for a meal that we knew was wrong when it was brought to us, and it is unfortunately still in her refrigerator. 17 dollar meal... not okay. Please get it together. Hire new managers, train the ones you...
Read moreAbsolutely TERRIBLE customer service from Meranda, manager on duty. My husband and I went to this restaurant after driving for 8 hours. Was met by 2 young men who were absolutely fantastic! They informed us the wait would be 15 minutes or less, asked us our name and asked us if we would be waiting inside and we told him yes. They sat a few people ahead of us and the it was our turn. They had a walk in and the young man forgot that we were waiting and sat someone else before us. I brought it up, he apologized and said "You should of told me." They went to finish sitting the other group so both of the young men were gone. A gentleman walks in and asked Meranda if he could sit at the bar, she explained that they were not allowing guests at the bar but she could sit him now. I politely stood up and went to the podium and let her know the situation. She said we have paged everyone that had their name in. I informed her that was not accurate, that we had been waiting, we did not give our number and then the host came back and told her what I was saying was accurate. She was extremely rude and unprofessional at host stand. I let the young man know that I wanted the corporate number or the GM's number and he again apologized. Meranda then came to our table and again tried to say we were to be sat at another table on the other side of the restaurant. She said all my hosts called off and I am trying to manage the entire restaurant and help the new hosts as they are new employees. After her yelling at me in front of other guests, I asked for the general managers number, whom I will be emailing as well. After Meranda left, the table beside me, said he would be calling too as that was absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. Once Jayden, our waitress came to the table she was wonderful. She asked me how my day was and I explained the situation. She then said "I heard her (Meranda) yelling at you from the back." She saved an entirely bad situation and was one of the best waitresses I have ever had. I understand the service industry is going through alot but for a manager to test paying guests/ customers this way is unacceptable. I hope that someone will contact me about...
Read moreI ordered a broccoli and chicken Alfredo and picked it up and was given a Blackened Alfredo that was spicy. I immediately corrected them when I looked in my bag and noticed that I did not have broccoli on my fettuccine Alfredo. The server immediately went and brought me broccoli and extra Alfred upon my request WITH NO PROBLEM. As I began to eat my meal at home I noticed my mouth was burning. I called the next day to speak to a manager about this, and the manager told me that either my plate got mixed up with another order or the person who took my order heard me wrong. The manager said “The blackened Alfredo comes with a spicy red peppers sauce.” So then she asks me for my receipt info and then says, “you were charged for a blackened Alfredo dinner and not a BROCCOLI CHICKEN ALFREDO DINNER.” I told her I just said immediately when they gave me my order I corrected them. Then the MANAGER goes on to tell me “Olive Garden does not have a broccoli chicken Alfredo dinner.” I told her I saw a picture and she let me know that I was wrong. I CAN ADMIT I (The Customer) WAS WRONG ABOUT THE PICTURE, however I order BROCCOLI CHICKEN ALFREDO ALL THE TIME and no ones ever corrected me. I was not wrong about the add options, Broccoli is an option that you can add to your Alfredo dinner, HOWEVER BLACKENED IS NOT AN OPTION TO ADD and as a fact BLACKENED IS NOT EVEN ON THE MENU AS A ALFREDO DINNER. So how could the person accidentally confuse my order with a dish thats NOWHERE ON THERE MENU. The major issue I’m having is instead of being so quick to tell your customer that they are wrong INSTEAD OF BEING A PROFESSIONAL MANAGER and apologizing for OLIVE GARDENS MISTAKE... I was quickly dismissed with a refund and told my money would be on my card in 5 to 7 business days...to NEVER be asked would I like a replacement meal. As if my money was no good or they didn’t want to fix my orders ( I’m going to have to take it as THIS OLIVE GARDEN WAS NOT CAPABLE OF MAKING THE DINNER RIGHT) This was Olive Garden on Miller Lane in Dayton Ohio...I DO NOT suggest this particular Olive Garden until new management or staff training is done. UNTIL THIS HAPPENS, THE CUSTOMER WILL...
