Mahogany Prime Steakhouse — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

I have been fine dining my entire life. My parents always took me as a kid, and I grew up to be a major foodie. I have eaten at a lot of high end resturants, I was that kid that shows people 3 and 4 times my age "Where to eat" and showed them places they never knew existed. Just moved to OKC 6 months ago. Since I been in OK, I have been on a Quest to find the best Steak House. This is it! I think this Steak House has just outdone some of Los Angeles Finest. I give this place 5 stars in opinion, and on Google and there's only 1 other Steak House on earth I thought was this good. I got the Bone In Filet 14oz, and of course Onion rings which blew my mind, I thought I knew good Steak House rings, nope! Not till Mahogany. I ordered my Steak with their highest end Sauce, which I already forgot the name. It was asparagus with chunks of Thick wonderful Crab in a Holiday sauce served over my Bone in Filet. I cut into this steak with no struggle what so ever. I could have practically cut it with a fork. The meat was so soft and perfectly cooked, the crust...wow!!!! They did a Fantastic Job on this Steak and I don't see how anyone would not like this Masterpiece Meal. My new Favorite Place of all time. They actually serve Wagu Beef as well. The Japanese beef fed a case of beer and massaged, $99 for a 5oz. The Sourdough bread was to die for and home made butter, well let's just say I couldn't believe it. The house salad, with candied walnuts...heheh I could go on and on but I think you get the point. I also had Garlic Mashed Potatoes that were truly perfect and needed nothing extra or it would have ruined the amazing flavor. Mahogany, you blew my mind tonight! The Service was absolutely Perfect...my Server was super accommodating and hospitable. It felt like I was at a good friends house for dinner. I think I enjoyed myself a little too much. The portions are huge and the food is ALL 5 Star. I would happily taste test their dishes for them just to review for free! I could eat here once a week and it wouldn't be enough. Most definitely one of the best Steak Houses I have ever been to. Some may call it high priced but I can assure you I have had food not half as good for at least 50% more. If you are looking to impress someone special in any way shape or form, this is theeeeeee place to go. Thank you for a mesmorizing dinner, Mahogany! You are truly my New, Best of all time Steak House. No one else in OKC has out done you and I have been everywhere every local had told me, I'm just sorry Mahogany was the last I tried when it should have been the first but what can I say, the best was last and now...

I have been to this restaurant several times in the past. The experience has always been great! A business partner took our team and their team to dinner after an afternoon of meetings. We had reservations and were seated promptly. It's been said many times in these reviews, but the Wait Staff was EXCELLENT!!! They were attentive but not overly intrusive. The food was awesome. All the appetizers and side dishes were tasty and served at the right temperature. All the main courses were enjoyed by everyone.

The only issue was at the very end of the dinner. Several folks ordered dessert but I was the only one to order the carrot cake. Unfortunately, it ruined my entire experience. The slice was huge and presented very well but it was DRY and it wasn't very sweet at all. I remember thinking "Why is this called DESSERT?" Why would they want to have the perfect meal end with a horrible dessert?? The cake was stale and shouldn't have been served. The recipe they are using needs work because carrot cake should be flavorful and MOIST (take a hint from another local restaurant chain that does an OUTSTANDING carrot cake)!! I'll never order another dessert at this restaurant because I wouldn't want to be disappointed again and have my dinner ruined.

• UPDATE: 12/27/2023 * I recently attended another business dinner at Mahogany Prime Steakhouse. I had been told that their carrot cake recipe had been upgraded and was much better than the previous version. I came with an open mind and looked forward to trying the new dessert.

The service and food was OUTSTANDING as usual. I've never had anything less than fantastic service and food. This visit was no different. Then, came dessert time. I ordered the new Carrot Cake and anxiously waited for it. In my mind, I hoped it would be similar to the carrot cake that "other" restaurant chain makes that is absolutely delicious. When I received my piece of carrot cake I have to say it was DELICIOUS!!! It was moist and flavorful and nothing like the old version. It was very much on par with the "other" restaurant's version.

Kudos to the management of Mahogany Prime Steakhouse for taking customer feedback and acting on it in a positive way! This new version of carrot cake is a WINNER!! We've dined at Mahogany several times and have enjoyed every experience! I live out of state but make sure to schedule a night to enjoy the excellent food at Mahogany. Katelyn was absolutely outstanding! I mean WOW! Katelyn made some recommendations for our dinner and every morsel was delicious! The starter of bread, brought to the table one at a time so it is warm, fabulously fresh and a great compliment to the chilled cocktails. The Watermelon Crush was refreshing, light and garnished with the perfectly bite-sized juicy watermelon. The lobster cargo is one of our highlights of the meal. Unbelievably innovative and the perfect tummy tickler before the stars of the show come out. The seafood tower is a sight to see and even better to taste. Every detail is considered on this multi-layered, fresh catch tower. The king crab was melt in your mouth goodness. Got us ready for the "Katelyn Recommendations " dry aged strip and akaushi filet. We wanted the taste of steak, something tender with steak texture. The dry aged was a true comfort taste. Bold enough, but still light enough to enjoy a true steak taste. My favorite was the akaushi. This will be my go-to and I've craved it many days since returning home. The taste of the tender cut is almost unbelievable. A hint of buttery taste and so tender, the knife slides right through it. With the slightest bit of char at the ends, the steak is an experience each diner should have, at least once. To round it all off, we had amazing sides including lobster mac. The massive carrot cake was a special birthday cake treat. Most of the food went home with us since we like to try a bit of alot. Don't worry, the next day meal hit the spot again.
