Pub W (Memorial) — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

I've dined and met friends for drinks at OKC Pub W several times and I just felt like it was time I left a review. To start off with if you are going to visit this establishment do not sit at the bar. If you Do sit at the bar bring a ''regular'' maybe one that drinks there 3 to 4 days a week or a personal friend of one of the bar tenders might work. In short the bar staff are just ridiculous. Go in sit down at the bar and someone will immediately bring you one of their house filled bottles of water and pour you a glass... Enjoy it because it's going to be the only drink you get for a very long time. No one will address you... Bartenders will be uncomfortably avoided eye contact with you but bar backs will stare right at you... It's like you've become invisible to anyone that can bring you food or drink. If this had only happened one or twice I would, as I usually do, just brush it off even though it's awkward but it's just an ongoing scenario at OKC Pub W. I have actually had good experience when seated at a table for the most part and we were even very pleased with the the service by the last table server we had... Wish I knew his name.. He was good... I over tipped him intentionally. Pub W OKC has excellent fresh squeezed juice cocktails but you'll probably never know because for whatever reason bartenders have been trained to avoid patrons at the bar unless they can remember serving you previously... No new or occasional customers are needed. One last thing... house filled bottles of water for the table although showy and trendy are disgusting. If management at any popular OKC restaurant would take the time time pour a glass of this water and smell it they would stop the practice...

*UPDATE: though we can't be certain it is because of the food we ate here, the wife and I are having very bad stomach problems today. We won't be coming back to pub w. We went because a buddy of mine said they had great pot roast. They've taken the pot roast off the menu. No problem, Tuesday is fried chicken night. The good: We started with the pretzels appetizer. It was 6 or 7 soft pretzel sticks with beer cheese for dipping. These were actually better than I expected and my wife practically drank the cheese sauce. My Fred chicken dinner was good. You get half a chicken, mashed potatoes, and seasoned green beans. The bad: our server was terrible. She put down 2 small glasses and a decanter of water, didn't fill the glasses, and said you're ok with water right? Ok I'll give you a few minutes. We then sat there for more than 15 minutes waiting. When she finally came back we ordered. She was still fairly rude. The pretzels came out in reasonable time. It was so cold in the building the pretzels were cold before we were half way done and the cheese started setting. And then we waited and waited and waited. A large group that came in several minutes after us had a different server and were already eating. We finally got our food. Like I said my food was ok but my wife didn't like her burger and only are a couple of her fries (and she loves fries). So that's our story. All that for $40. Doubt we will...

ATTENTION!!! My friend and I decided to eat here at night after a long day. We hadn't eaten lunch or dinner prior to coming here. The restaurant and service itself was just okay. Nothing spectacular by any means. However, thats not why I am writing this review. Im writing this review because my friend and I both woke up at the exact same time(@ 2:30) with severe food poisoning. I should have known better because something in the burger tasted funny (We both ordered the Avocado Burger.) Legitimately, in all my years of eating out, I have never had any food poisoning. Ever. The only exception are literally 3rd world countries I've visited in the past.

Its the chefs duty and responsibility or anyone thats working in the kitchen to make sure that everything is clean and cooked properly. I really hope management sees this review including the restaurant owner.

And finally, this restaurant is a perfect, dead on example of why you should not always trust reviews. I will never go here again, and i will tell all my friends (that live in the area) to avoid this truly awful place.

PS, I am not one to write reviews at all regardless if it was a good or bad experience. But this warranted the scathing review without a doubt.
