I will preface this by saying that the manager and front desk person did address my issues and did do their best to correct the issues. ||I was traveling to OKC to meet up with my son and his family for his birthday. We were wanting to have dinner at Ramsey's Kitchen and I wanted a hotel near that location. I tried for several days to find a hotel in OKC that didn't have terrible reviews and offered breakfast. Not having breakfast was a deal breaker for me. Since my son has a 5 year old daughter - we needed breakfast. I called Marriott, after not having any luck on the website, and was offered this hotel with the breakfast rate. I checked the reviews and while they weren't terrible, not all of them were great. But the hotel was in the area that I needed, so I booked it. ||I had two queen rooms: 419 and 421. Both were clean on the surface. However when I dropped a vitamin on the floor and was down trying to find it, instead I found a LOT of trash (some disgusting) under the dresser. That was my straw. As to the actual room conditions: there is condensation around the windows and water pools on the window sill in both rooms. The paint/paper is peeling away from the walls near the AC in both rooms. There is a pink stain on one wall - in each room. And the baseboard in the bathroom in room 421, under the sink is peeling away from the wall. On the surface those are minor issues. There is a mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot in the room. There isn't a closet but rather a wardrobe that is rather small. You have to hang your clothes front to back rather than side to side like a normal closet. That made getting to items in the back hard. The dresser is comprised of a storage box type. Those were stained/dirty. The lighting in the bathroom leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to doing makeup. I did like the walk in glass shower. There is lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap in the room, if you forget yours. The beds were awesome. They were very comfortable and I have zero complaints about them. There is ample storage on the dresser and quite a few power outlets. ||My main issue aside from the unfortunate find under the dresser was the breakfast. There is a menu in the room. But those items listed for breakfast is not what is offered. Or at least not what we were offered. We stayed three days. On day one we were offered eggs (either liquid or powder), sausage, and toast. I asked for toast and fruit. I was given semi cold toast and a tangerine. There was no cereal, no pastries, no omelets, no other sides or menu items as listed on the room menu. I don't recall if there was juice or not - but it wasn't in the breakfast area. I was told at check in that breakfast was "cooked to order." Cooked to order in advance - not upon order. There was coffee and hot water in the lobby. Day two- the same as the day before. I got toast and two bananas. The breakfast person was very apologetic. I explained that I am limited to what I can eat and therefore I wasn't concerned about breakfast for myself but rather for the rest of my family. However, I had thought that there would at least be the typical continental fare found at the most basic of hotels. Nope. She was able to get me yogurt which was very kind of her. We didn't bother to go on the other days. We went to WalMart and bought Poptarts and other stuff for breakfast. ||If you opt to stay here and again, the staff is beyond kind and helpful, don't book the breakfast rate. Either go to WalMart and buy breakfast - the hotel charges $11 for the breakfast "buffet" or go to a nearby restaurant and have an actual breakfast. There was at no point a breakfast buffet. ||There is a bar in the hotel - where breakfast is served. It seemed nice and there was always people in it in the evening. The pool and gym were great. I liked that they had quite a bit of gym equipment available. I don't recall seeing a laundry facility but there may be one. The ice machine was on the 1st and 3rd floor. ||If not for the unfortunate find under the dresser and deplorable breakfast - this would have been an...
Read moreI am currently staying here (25 days at this point and a Gold member and will hit Elite during this stay). My condo flooded and this is the third hotel I have stayed in during this stay.. I have stayed at Marriott on the NW Expressway and the Staybridge (this one is extended stay). I would say that overall service is good. The staff is friendly, the beds are great (exceptional and brand new from what i was told), food is good, I daily ask for coffee to be refilled in lobby and staff is always helpful.
Heres the downsides: I just started a new job and asked for a wakeup call. The first week always on time and no problems. I moved to a diff room and the first day I did I didnt get my wakeup call. Now im not an idiot and I had a backup. I was actually up during the first missed wakeup call and went I went downstairs I explained that my call never came, it was important that I got the call as I had just started a new job and wanted to be on time. Next day no wake up call again. This is where its inexcusable to me. One day is understandable the second day in a row is just plain not doing your job. If I am staying there for three months I expect at least minimum effort to fix the problem. I dont know if the phone is broken or what, but I expect someone to at least check this when I explain the issue and not have it occur again two days in a row. Totally unprofessional.
Needless to say I wasnt happy about this so overall mixed bag.
(OK, so the above is a review for this hotel I left on tripadvisor.com). Today is the next day. After two days of not receiving my wake up call in a row. I did in fact receive my wake up call this morning. In fact i received two. One that woke me up an hour early. The incompetence at this hotel is beyond me. I would never recommend this hotel. There are three others in the area, there is no need to choose this one. I am currently trying to move to the lofts but waiting on approval from my insurance company as the price is a bit more (loft manager calling me tomorrow to see on price). You would think for three months of booking they would be willing to fix this problem, however they are not. This probably works out to about a $1,000 loss per wake up call on their end but if they cant do a wake up call i doubt they can add either.
The lone bright spot here has been a newer rep named Josh who was always very helpful. Kat was...
Read moreWhere do I start? Room- given the room furthest from the front doors as humanly possible. I'm disabled, that walk was ridiculous! Walls are thin and you can hear everything next door outside your door lady walking down the hall....... Ugh!
Bed- The blanket that is suppose to be a comforter? I'm not sure what happened to the stuffing but you hold it up and see light and throughout there are chunk knots scattered everywhere in all different sizes and shapes. Like the foam? fell apart from repeated washing, I don't know but it looked diseased. Bad thing is, it was not any help for keeping me warm. No extra sheets or blankets provided to add to bed. Bed is decent, not soft so you won't sink. Bathroom was in good shape, shower head got some crazy pressure. Outside the shower stall might have black mold starting. Two tiny towels two face rags.
Don't believe the front desk people when they say the breakfast buffet will be open. NO NOPE NADA because of COVID you give the person that looks like your school's lunch lady your order (she was soo sweet) and out comes a bag with a small breakfast you take to your room, you eat alone. Much disappointment cuz I was looking forward to Hunny Bunny Biscuits but their promised breakfast buffet won out. Guess thats what I get for being a piggy.
The TV channels were much to be desired!! No HBO, no movies, no DVD player attached to the TV just boring basic cable or blah. C'mon guys!
The dorm room fridge we had in our room was sufficient, along with the microwave but I had to reprogram it since nobody else evidently had.
Pool- I don't know what on God's green earth is going on in their pool but it has turned into a science experiment!! The whole plan was staying here to try out their pool, uh no. It had a green skin layer on top and had what looked like bugs on it, not to mention the bubbles that were popping all over. I wished I took video but was disgusted at how green it was I left. There wasn't any water movement what so ever.
I don't know what is going on with the running of this place but I can seriously see why people have been staying at other places. It's a disaster...
