We were in town because my girls had a club soccer game. Instead of driving to a mom & pop like I normally do we walked over from the hotel to this place.
The decor was over the top. (red flag)
They sat us at a table that was still wet from being wiped down. ok
Everyone was friendly at first.
I asked..."do you all have a special margarita"? The waitress asked me "do you want top shelf". I replied no thanks. Just regular.
Food came out timely. The enchilada looked ok. The quesadila looked weird. And the fajita's did not look normal. (we are from Dallas and know Tex-Mex). Two meals were horrible. One was ok. But we were not going to complain. Then the check came.
The food we received did not match the price that was being charged.
The waitress charged me for 2 "jumbo" margaritas. I asked for regular. When I showed signed of irritation. She threw my receipt on the table and walked off. Not ok.
The manager on duty was pleasant and tried her best to accommodate.
But what sealed the deal and made me want to leave a review was as I was speaking with the manager the waitress came up and said..."you told me you wanted a jumbo". That was a lie. Never even used that word. "Regular" was the word I used. The fact she tried to change it up and confront me when clearly there was an issue is what took it over the top. Again, not ok. Get a different job.
But for anyone that is from out of town (especially from Texas - TEX-mex) do yourself a favor and go to the smaller mom & pop when visiting this area of north okc. The food and attitudes I am sure will be much better than what we experienced...
Read moreI'll start by saying that everything seemed very clean and the atmosphere was nice. This is "white people mexican food." The salsa was decent and tasted fresh, but had no spice and too much celery salt. Chips were too thick, cold and likely stale from the day before. Their rice has fozen peas and carrots and the enchiladas are not cooked- they're assembled on the plate and then topped with sauce. The tortillas literally slide out from underneath the enchilada ingredients and look untouched. The meats are all lacking flavor and seem like it was all steamed or made in crock pots without seasoning. They rely on the topping/ sauces to provide and seasoning/ flavor. The tres leches cake had to be from an American grocery store or from the same recipe. It was dry at the top and very little soaking at the bottom. If you know traditional tres leches, you know that plate should be a shallow pool of combined milks... The tropical margaritas were good. Otherwise, our server was less than helpful and was quick to ask for the highest tip option. I selected 22% to his dissatisfaction. I usually don't give less than 3-4 stars, but this place doesn't deserve it. OKC has real Mexican food now....
Read moreThis was my first time. I got takeout. I got fajitas. I got a soggy mess of seasonless food.
I ordered the fajitas thinking they're an easy meal and I believe you can tell a really good place by their fajitas. I wish I took pictures because the meat was gray, the tomatoes, onions, and peppers looked like they stewed in water (I even had to drain the "juice" in the sink from the takeout box.
As for the taste, it was bland, at best. No salt or other seasoning, and I even questioned whether the meat was cooked. I ended up loading my three tortilla shells with beans and rice lettuce cheese and sour cream and just tossing the meat.
I'm disappointed because I looked at the pictures and several other visitors who had ordered excellent looking fajitas, and I was really excited based on the reviews. Overall, I won't be going back. The price was about $23, and definitely not worth that.
Additionally, I was kind of disappointed when I ordered online to find out that their app listed the highest priced tip on the left down to lower with nothing less than 23%. If I hadn't paid attention I would have tipped like 30% for a...
