Ray's Cafe — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

Took my kids to eat here and after we ordered our food, it took approximately 45 minutes to get an omelet with hash browns, 2 eggs, 1 chocolate chip pancake, and 6 pieces of bacon. When the food arrived it seemed fine. After about halfway through my omelet (ham,cheese,mushroom) I notice what looks like a piece of dirt coming out of the end of my omelet. It was the stem of a molded mushroom with DIRT on the end of it. I was so surprised I asked the server what it was and he smirked and said “I don’t know but it looks like dirt, maybe it’s the end of a mushroom.” Disgusted by the fact I had molded mushrooms with dirt in my food I promptly stopped eating and asked for the check. Not even a discount, they charged me for the entire omelet and when I thought the owner was going to come and talk to me about it, she went to a different table and was chatting with them before cleaning the specials sign. Trying to get the servers attention he let me know that if I wanted to use a card to pay they would charge me 3%. I decided I was going to pay and leave and not go back. Went in for breakfast on a Sunday morning, 3 servers working, maybe 3 tables occupied. First, my coffee went completely empty before I got a refill. I can forgive that if that was the only issues. My boyfriend ordered a short stack and I got a standard eggs and meat breakfast. Our food comes out,(which is when I finally got my coffee refill), he gets one pancake and the server said the other one will be out shortly. My food was cold, and it took about 5 minutes for a different server to bring out the 2nd pancake. By then we just told the different server to just take the short stack off the ticket. She was super apologetic which was appreciated, but our original server never came back to ask how the food was, and if he would of I would of mentioned my cold food. Well, we paid and on our way out our original server saw us, turned around, and rushed back to the server station maybe thinking we were gonna say something to him about the subpar food and service. I really love going to different diners in okc with my family. This place definitely is a southern diner. They welcomed us when we came in. Its quiet and calm, they still have the wrap around booths which I LOVE because none of us were scrunched and trying to eat. Mind you I had a carseat and 2 kiss plus my husband. We got to pick where we sat and the waitress was super attentive and polite. She was nice to my kids which is a big plus because alot of servers ignore them. I did get sick from something I ate but it was made right by the owner AS SOON AS I brought the issue to her attention. She was very polite and respectful. Something just didnt agree with me. Which isnt necessarily their fault. Most places would have offered an apology and left it at that. They are giving me a refund as soon as I make it back to their place. My husband loved his steak and eggs and the kids had no complaints...
