To the management there, TAKE BETTER CARE OF YOUR ASSOCIATES! We were helped by an incredibly hard working young man who was overdue for his break and very obviously needed to step away and relieve himself. Even after turning his checkout lane light off, customers ignored this and kept coming and he dutifully served them. I asked the cashier where his manager was to relieve him and he responded in a way that showed he was terrified to ask for help because he clearly anticipates retribution for asking. "It will get put on me" was his response. Service workers do not deserve to work in fear and need to be appreciated and cared for more. For him to be terrified of asking for coverage to relieve himself, SHAME ON THE MANAGEMENT. Honestly, shame on Aldi as a whole for fostering such a toxic environment. Another example of the front line associates sacrificing their own comfort and energy in the name of a corporation that will work them to burn out and replace him without batting an eye. Please do better; hire more people, and train your managers to be real leaders for their employees and not to instill fear for advocating for their own needs. Thank you service workers for...
Read moreI normally like shopping here, However, tonight was a different story. It is New Year’s Eve and I understand not everybody wants to work on New Year’s Eve As I, myself did work today. When I arrived at 6:30 PM the inner entrance door was locked. I turned around to check the store hours which said 9 AM to 9 PM. A young woman came to unlock the door notifying me that they close at 7 o’clock with a negative attitude. A few minutes later as I was hurriedly shopping she was operating a piece of floor equipment did not look to see where she was going and nearly ran into me. After I had checked out with the very pleasant young man at the counter, the hateful young woman once again appeared and told the clerk that if anybody else came up to the door to tell them that they were closed. This was at 6:50 PM . There were a few customers trying to run in to get last minute items at 6:51 and were turned away even though the store hours clearly state that are Still supposed to be open. I will find somewhere else to shop from now on. Some place that appreciates their customers and or at least...
Read moreI think most folks already know about Aldi's for one reason or another, but I have to be honest and say it has been years since I've visited this one (the closest to my home), and I had forgotten the great prices they offer on most of their products, and some of the sale prices are awesome... can't beat $1.99 for a pound of butter. Yes, they still have a limited selection in certain categories (such as frozen foods), but I think I'll start scheduling my first stop at Aldi's, and then stop at my "regular" mega-grocery (Walmart at Belle Isle usually) on the way home to grab the few leftover items that aren't at Aldi's. I'm on a fixed income now, so saving that extra 10%-20% on food that is the same as the name brand is a huge plus to me. And they let their cashiers sit while working, I love that tiny bit of decency on the part of the company. Bring your own bags!!! And a quarter for the shopping cart!!! (you...
