We started our meal off with a large guacamole. I forgot to take a picture, but it was delicious. It was a chunky one with big chunks of avocado. Our party of 5 all loved the guacamole. It satisfied my dietary needs, and was delicious so I was happy. The complementary chips and salsa also paired nicely. The chips are the thinner chips, so not too crunchy and doesn’t fill you up too much before the meal. After getting our meal order in, the food came out pretty quickly. They could accommodate a lunch break meal if you have an hour break. The owner was around and I feel like if you let him and/or waiter know you were in a rush they could get you out faster if needed. My vegetarian fajitas I ordered were very good and had seasoning and flavor on the veggies. They got my order correct the first time. I would come back for lunch again. It is relatively close to my work, and can accommodate me and is also good for other co-workers without dietary restrictions. The meat eaters in my party seemed to like their meals as well. The burrito or quesadillas they ordered were huge and large enough for them to take some home for another meal (dinner portion I think). My lunch portion was perfect to keep me full all day. We were on break from work, so couldn’t try it but the owner mentioned he had...
Read moreBorn on May 5th, it's a natural fit to include Cinco de Mayo in the ever-so growing list of good places to eat around Olive Branch after Church or when it's too late to cook after a long day. There are a lot of Tex-Mex Restaurants in this area and Frankly, having tested all of them, I can say that there can be very few differences between them. As a matter of fact, I often think they are somewhat related to each other and certainly share the same inspiration for menus and price range. Cinco de Mayo has quick and friendly Hispanic service, the food is good and generous and in case it makes a difference, their free Nachos are the very thin kind, by far my favorite, and the Salsa is freshly seasoned. So why did I go there today instead of Casa, Mi Pueblo or one of the many Mex options within a few miles?Because it was on my way home and we went to meet friends there. But I will definitely continue to include them in our rotation for these reasons and as long as they offer a great price-value and relatively authentic South of the...
Read moreI was a customer for over 2 years (20+ visits). When eating in, the wait staff is courteous and friendly and the food is usually decent, but sometimes the flavor is off (lacking). Portion sizes can also vary at times. I'd give them a 3 star for my eating in experiences. Beware of takeout however. The last 4 times I ordered takeout, they didn't pickup their phone on either advertised number. They are close by, so I ordered the takeout in person. I told them about the phone issues and they shrugged that off with "we're having phone problems". The big issue for me with the last four multi-meal takeout orders was that there was at least one error with each order. At least one meal was missing part of the order, a side order was incorrect or a special request wasn't followed. When I told the manager of my disappointment and dissatisfaction with their takeout performance, he seemed indifferent to my complaints. No worries. I am done with the Cinco de Mayo in Olive...
