Glad that the Flagship Restaurant Group brought another option for nighttime entertainment to Omaha like Champ Pang Lanes. I’ve been to the other locations in the country, and I think this place-having just opened up in Omaha- needs some time to work out workflow and service.
The decor and atmosphere are fine, very akin to what you might find in larger metropolitan areas. The cocktail prices echo those same large city prices too despite the level of cocktail execution being…meh. Nothing to write home about. I’ve had their mai tai which was overly astringent and had an unpleasant mouth feel. Would recommend some sort of syrup to soften and balance the tartness on the palate. The espresso martini was overly sweet and unfortunately watery whereas you could get an espresso martini at say The Cottonwood Room with an execution and finish WORTH the price you’re paying for. Guacamole was good, and I believe it’s the same as the one used for the adjoining Mexican bar Ghost Donkey.
Moreover what was frustrating was the customer service. I arrived at the bar with my group, already seated and well into finishing our first round when security eventually showed up and decided to then check our IDs. By that point it’s moot and quite frankly ridiculous when we’ve already purchased and consumed alcohol. We were moved to a couch from the bar and ordered drinks only to then be kicked out of those seats 15 minutes later by the hostess because of a reservation. She offered no alternative seating when we were clearly consuming cocktails or offered no solution about closing our tab if we had to leave the seating. Why would you seat customers in a reserved space when you knowingly will ask them to leave 15 minutes later? Eventually, we did find new seating, ordered more drinks and food to then be inconvenienced and told we had to go look for the previous server from the seats we were made to move from in order to close our tabs.
Overall, a complete disappointment. I understand a smaller size city relies on growth and more options for entertainment, bars and nightlife. I’m glad this place has come to Omaha. However, the polish and attention to detail in this place is currently lacking despite “big city” menu prices. If you’re asking someone to pay 15 dollars for a cocktail or have a $550 bottle of Cristal on your menu, there is a reasonable expectation that the customer service is elevated and a little...
Read moreOur company recently threw an event at Cham Pang Lanes with the help of their Director of Events/Assistant Manager, Victoria. We were coordinating a welcome party for around 100 people, and she helped us every step of the way to make our experience amazing. She was such a help with figuring out food + drink options/amounts, dietary restrictions, ambiance, and any custom requests I had.
It took such a huge load off my shoulders to know that she and her team had everything handled, and our night couldn't have turned out any better. Even when we got to the end of our allotted time, Victoria and staff worked with us to extend the time limits and continue the good vibes to ensure everyone had a fantastic time. I would HIGHLY recommend any parties to try out...
Read moreThis place has an impeccable vibe forsure!! I’ve been twice with friends and each time we have fun. You don’t even have to bowl to have a good time here. The decor is so kitschy which i loveee! The drinks are well made and all the staff are welcoming and all around good people. The only slight con would be it gets kind of packed at night, but not unbearably so. But that goes to show that it’s a great spot to go. The second time we went we did have to wait a bit for seats to open up but that didn’t bother us. I will say you should try to get a reservation if you’re bowling. The prices overall are not bad. Definitely will...
