My wife and I are from out of town and figured this breakfast and coffee spot looked good! When we arrived, there was a short wait, maybe 15 mins but we were not greeted by the hostess at all, we showed ourselves to the bar. The service was fast but you could feel tension in the air amongst the crew. Not a very welcoming environment at the bar. The food was presented very well but the flavors and recipes were not good at all, my wife had the farmers skillet and waffles and it was very bland and tasted as if it had been reheated in microwave. I had the Cuban scramble and it was awful, whatever jalapeños were used were extremely sour and it tasted as if the juice of the jalapeño was poured all over the entire dish. The eggs were flavorless, the meat was tender and cooked well but tasted very sour and had a foul odor. We tried to be as polite as possible but neither of us could not finish our food and we normally always take our leftovers. This time we could not and the host at the bar was visibly and verbally disturbed by the fact that we did not want to take the nasty food with us. He was very rude about it and did not inquire as to if we were satisfied with our food. We would not recommend this place to anyone for food or coffee. The coffee was also a 2/10, whatever milk and flavorings were used were not mixed well or the barista had no knowledge on how to make the...
Read moreSo understand what you’re getting before you come here: This is a restaurant that’s being run as part of a ministry for unhoused community members to provide them with jobs. That’s a great idea, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. Where they needed to have just a good old fashioned diner with eggs, bacon, pancakes and coffee, they’ve attempted to create a high-end boutique breakfast restaurant and honestly, it’s a mess. The menu is extensive and misleading (sorry, but my food wasn’t “made from scratch” and wasn’t even reheated properly), there is no management in place to keep the struggling staff in order, and chaos and confusion reigned.
I work for an entity that provides services to our unhoused community, including job training resources. I’m an advocate, but these community members have frequently been out of a structured job environment for an extended period of time. They need a lot of support, clear tasks, and patience. This setup isn’t providing any of that and neither the customers nor the...
Read moreI've been to The Table for coffee, to shop at the local boutique and for Thursday night worship. All experiences have been absolutely amazing. The coffee was carefully made by their skilled batista. You can buy Baker's Chocolates, Tholi oil products, books by local authors, locally grown plants, and handcrafted jewelry and clothing at the boutique as of my last visit. The best by far, however, was the worship and prayer service on Thursday night. The power of the Holy Spirit was present enough to feel like a covering over us, and the message from Pastor Chris was confirmation that what I was feeling was indeed what was happening. I left with my heart full of love that only can come from the Lord. I encourage everyone to go out for the coffee ( I hear the food is amazing, too), then go back for the worship! In the words of Psalm 23:5 " You prepare a table for me on the presence of my enemies, you anoint my head with oil, my cup runneth over." All these things can be found...
