Although the food looked good once it arrived to the table the flavor was not. I had to send the bag of shrimp back and ask that they add more seasoning. I had originally ordered the cajun spicy but after taking my first bite the flavor was more of a watery cayenne pepper flavor. After the bag was brought back it was obvious by the intense red color all the cook had done was add more chili pepper and some salt. The salt did help but compared to other cajun places I've been to this place is at the bottom of the list. Also when ordering by the pound you have to take into consideration that the weight is taken after all the ingredients are added in other word not just the shrimp but the potato, corn, and sausage as well or whatever you decide to include in your mix. For example, in my bag I had shrimp, one corn (a $1and some change extra), and sausage (the menu states 1/2LB for $5 extra) after receiving my bag I counted 9 whole shrimp, 8 inedible shrimp heads, 1 corn, and 4.5 pieces of sausage. In my book not really worth the $13 plus since I've gotten way more per bag at other places like The Bucket Crab in Ontario with much more flavor, but that's for you to decide. As for the fries they are just fried potato sticks nothing special.
The kids menu isn't listed but we were told it's popcorn shrimp with fries so we ordered one and the popcorn shrimp were frozen bits of battered shrimp most of which didn't have any shrimp inside. This was very disappointing since we were at a seafood restaurant and didn't expect them to serve frozen fried pieces of batter especially with so much competition around that serve freshly battered and fried shrimp.
Also, we went there just after 6pm when the dinner crowd starts to come in and there were only two girls covering the floor. When my party sat down to eat the place was empty which in hind sight should have been a sign since the business is located in a very high traffic area and as time passed and more people started coming there were still only two girls running the floor so service was slow. By the time my party finished and we were set to leave it was almost 8pm and the place was still pretty empty with only 3 other tables being served. The restaurant is pretty big compared to similar one's I've been to so I'm probably not the first one to have a tasteless meal there. Anyways, give it a try or don't you can...
Read moreCame here on a Thursday afternoon for a late lunch after some horseback riding with the bestie. We weren't terribly hungry but wanted something tasty for lunch. We ordered the fried catfish, clam chowder and the seafood ciopinno. The catfish was sooo fresh and perfectly cooked. The. After was almost a tempura style batter so it was light crispy and airy and served straight from the range to our table and we loved it. The clam chowder was amazing as well but was creamy and had a nice hearty flavor AND it had fresh whole clams still inside their shell in the actual soup. DELICIOUS!! The fresh clams in the shell definantly added to the rich flavor of the soup so I highly recommend trying it if you like New England style (cream based) chowder. The ciopinno was very flavorful according to my friend (I didn't try it personally). She did say it was a little on the salty side for her liking but she enjoyed it nonetheless. The place has ample seating and a bar area as well as big screen TVs throughout the venue to watch a wide array of sports or news etc. around the time we came it wasn't too busy and great to share a nice meal and chat and even juSt eat a. It and hang out. The vibe is super chill and relaxing. The staff was super nice however, they could have been a bit more attentive to the customers as it seemed as though they were busy with doing other things in the resteraunt. I'm sorry I do not have pics to post this time of the food but I WILL be back again to eat here and will post pics and review them as well. In the meantime if you are around the Ontario (Mills) area stop by...
Read moreI found this restaurant through Uber eats....I felt like trying something different. Anyways I ordered the shrimp and calamari dirty rice....fried oysters and fries and a sprite and strawberry lemonade. Oysters were very small and over fried , fries were not seasoned at all and were just your every day frozen french fry....I was totally disappointed because I love fried oysters...the tartar sauce was good tho....the dirty fried rice was very tasty- however the shrimps were medium sized and there were literally only four shrimps and very small pieces of calamari and they were not fresh and very rubbery——the portion size was great tho and it was tasty- but it could have been so much better. If they had at least 8 shrimps and fresh calamari more bell peppers & sausage it would have been perfection. I love that the drinks had crushed ice And the strawberry lemonade was great- no straws tho- I give them 3 stars because for the price they could have done better. 13$ for oysters & fries...14$ for dirty rice 3$ 24ounce sprite & $4.50 for the strawberry lemonade- I wouldn’t call it expensive but the food could have been better- I’m willing to try some other things on the menu tho....maybe it’s just...
