When I was little my dad used to always take me to get donuts from his favorite place, Krispy Kreme donuts. Krispy Kreme is a widely popular and iconic donut shop that can be found in almost every state, opening first in July of 1937. As of now they sell about 1 billion donuts a year, including internationally. I recently got to try the one at 25082 El Paso Ave in Mission Viejo. I believe that Krispy Kreme is the best wide chain of donuts.
Upon first walking in you will usually see a bright display of donuts, all different flavors to choose from and smell the fresh dough and glaze in the air. You will usually find all sorts of different people buying them because honestly, who doesn’t like donuts? In various locations there are windows into the kitchens where you can see how the donuts are shaped, glazed, and brought to the oven which is really cool to watch in my opinion. Workers wear uniforms as well as paper hats, which are sometimes given out to customers. There are always tons of donuts to choose from, as well as frequent unique holiday and event specials. The most popular and basic options would be the regular glazed donut, the chocolate glazed donut, and the strawberry glazed donut. Sprinkles can be added to all of these for more textures and the sweet, slimy glaze adds so much flavor to the soft and fluffy doughnut base. Another popular choice would be the donut bites, which are glazed balls of dough instead of the classic O-shaped donut. The donut balls also have a variety of flavors, mainly depending on the type of dough rather than the frosting and decoration. My favorite is always the raspberry filled donut. The donut is soft, fluffy, and glazed, much like the others, but what makes this one my favorite is the sweet raspberry syrup in the middle. Unlike the raspberry donuts at other donut shops I have been to, the thick syrup in this one tastes so fresh and sweet, just like a real raspberry, which goes so well with both the texture and taste of the donut, especially if you love raspberries like I do. My dad’s favorite on the other hand is the apple fritter, which is another great option. The apple fritter is one of the largest donuts at Krispy Kreme, with cinnamon and small chunks of apple baked inside to give the dough more texture as well as giving the donut that apple taste and smell, not to mention when combined with that sweet glaze. There are so many donuts to choose from at Krispy Kreme that you can look at right on display, makes it hard to decide at times which one to get.
I think Krispy Kreme stands out from other donut shops because of how soft and fluffy the donuts are and stay, even after long periods of time, meaning if you had part of your donut you can save the rest for later and it will still have that soft and fluffy texture without going stale. There are also so many different choices and such great flavors of dough, frosting, decorations, etc. Krispy Kreme is not like one of those places where there are only a few options. For all the years that they have been opened and bought from, I can totally understand why they have the popularity and reputation that they do. Just like the slogan says, Krispy Kreme leaves you “Happy...
Read moreI bought some books from baker's for donation for Easter Seals. In that book of coupons there's a coupon for Krispy Kreme well I come early in the morning 5 I guess, I come through the drive-thru. I have four coupons I order for glazed donuts. I get to the window the girl tells me $5 and some change so I hand her the four coupons with an attitude she says we're only allowed to do two per customer so I replied really and with her attitude she says what did you say. This time I say will then put two of them back. The interesting thing is I drive around Park and come inside to get the other two. The two girls there at the counter or both polite one of them gives me a free donut that couldn't understand what she was saying but she said they were giving them away for free. so I said thank you but I'm thinking how interesting so the other girl says oh you have the coupons I said yes and I give her the two coupons. No it's a trip is if I had four coupons at the window I'll come she just didn't give me the four coupons when I walk inside the building with two coupons they give me a free donut so that's a total of 5. The sad thing is I can understand if I came in with probably a dozen or or you know an enormous amount of free donuts but for donuts really and it's for a good cause it was a donation for Easter Seals so either somebody at the top of Krispy Kremes or something somewhere is broke. Cuz the attitude the girl had at the window was very poor when I came inside the attitude was totally different so to describe the girl she was a young hispanic girl black hair with black frame glasses I came in around 5 Sunday October 28th. just for a note Krispy Kreme if you have that big of a problem with giving away your Donuts that you put inside of a book through the Easter Seals then stop. I came in well-dressed well-groomed. I was treated like if I were an outcast a reject from society. What really got me upset was this point here they were giving away free donuts when I was at the window the girl didn't offer me a free donut was that only offered for people who came insideor was it the attitude of the girl working at the window who probably doesn't appreciate her job because if she's not appreciating the customers who's helping her keep her job something's wrong in that...
