I should've listened to my kids. My husband was dying to have a steak dinner and I checked local places for suggestions and wasn't finding anything too exciting so I went with a good old standby. My kids refused to join us for dinner because they said they looked at the reviews and the average was two stars or something. I was like "whatever, I know food and I'm going out!" We went to Stanford's and even though the front sign says "now seating", we had about a 20 minute wait for seating. Our server was friendly, and very quick, we never lack for anything during the meal. Started with the smoked salmon bruschetta, the smoke salmon was beautiful, it was so light and fresh, no fishy flavor and was not overly smoked. I personally abhor arugula but this was covered in baby arugula and it was shockingly mild and I was delighted to find that it complemented the salmon. The appetizer was delicious. I ordered the house red wine, it is a MaryHill blend, I love all forms of red wine and this one was so incredibly well balanced that I ordered a second glass because my husband....who claims to hate red wine...was constantly drinking from my glass and reducing my buzz. My husband had ordered a classic Mojito and it was delightfully citrus and mint, the majority of Mojito's are extremely over sugared and more like a preemptive diabetic coma. For dinner I ordered surf and turf. My turf, was an uneven cut so it cooked unevenly, half of it was extremely tough and difficult to chew while the other half was perfectly rich and delicious. My surf was a delightful grilled piece of salmon, my plate had beautiful sauces over each piece of meat and my green beans were crisp and fresh. My husband ordered the most expensive steak cut, ribeye and his was cooked perfectly, a little bit too salty but his plate arrived drier than the Sahara, he was not given any sauces for his potatoes, green beans or meat. He was dipping his food into my plate trying to get any moisture he could. For dessert we had the Apple crisp, it is an extremely generous portion, we shared it and it was more than enough, it was not too sweet and a perfect finish. Our meal and drinks came to 141, not a bad date night but they definitely have room for...
Read moreBeautiful restaurant. The service was amazing. Their alcoholic beverages were delicious. The portion sizes aren’t bad. You get what you pay for, but don’t expect to take home leftovers. It obviously also depends on how much you can eat. I hadn’t eaten all day and I was able to eat my entire 12oz New York strip. I even had it cooked medium rare - which, to my surprise was cooked more rare than medium rare. Perfect for me though. So, there was more weight to it still, as the moisture wasn’t all dried up. I skimped on the mashed potatoes because I’m low carb, but the green beans were cooked nicely. There were other side options and you can double your sides, I just didn’t think about it. I tried the potatoes though and they were good. They don’t season their food much, but it was still really yummy. Got the crab cakes as an appetizer and they were amazing; even my picky fiancé loved them. However, I think it was around $17 for two crab cakes. I’m sure it’s real crab, at least. The atmosphere was very warm and romantic, however there wasn’t much room to walk down the aisles and they had coat hangers attached to the ends of the booths, which is a creative and convenient idea, but the colorful jackets hung up down the aisles was a little distracting from the atmosphere. I expected a little more taste from this restaurant, but the dress code is casual and it still seems much like a family restaurant (however, I don’t recall seeing a kids menu, but maybe they give kids menus separately). I’m still on the search for a restaurant that’s a little more… “romantic exclusive,” I guess? Not that that completely exists. All in all, I’d still rate it five stars! The food, drink, and service was amazing! The drinks had plenty of liquor, but not too much to overwhelm the mix. We were regularly checked on by our waitress. She was really sweet and authentic. We had a wonderful time. It just wasn’t exactly what we were in search for in terms of environment, but that’s no reason to knock off a star. ♥️ I recommend this restaurant and...
Read moreI used to work here for a while and in that time I tried every entree on the menu. Most of the food is pretty good and on the main menu I'm particularly fond of the: -Wagyu burger -Southwest chicken chopped salad -Fish and Chips -Any of their pasta dishes -Onion rings. -Any of the appetizers except the Portobello mushroom.
BEWARE The Baked Potatoes which when I worked there were the #1 thing we got sent back for being cold. Idk why but for some reason they just never got heated enough but that's just my warning. Go with the mashed potatoes instead.
I really don't like the Portobello mushroom, the sauce on it is not very complementary. The fish tacos are good if the place isn't busy, but when it gets really busy during the dinner rush between October-February (their busy season) don't get them cause the food will sit in the kitchen window for several minutes and these tacos get really gross after sitting under the heat lamp.
The STEAKS here are pricy and they often have specialty steaks like the Tomahawk pork chop which are pretty good, but their regular steaks like the new York or the sirloin aren't that special most of the time.
At HAPPY HOUR try to sub out the waffle fries on dishes like the fish and chips or the sliders for regular fries or an onion ring. The waffle fries were almost always bad but the onion rings and regular fries are pretty good. Also the crab rolls are much more popular than the Ahi tuna rolls, so if your stuck between the two go with the crab. My only bad note about the crab rolls is that the crab in it is 1/3 artificial filler but the other 2/3 are genuine snow crab.
RESERVATIONS are NOT REQUIRED but I reccomend them for groups larger than 4 or if you want a table instead of a booth. OR if you're going on a weekend during dinner between 5-7:30.
Overall after working there more than a year I never got tired of the food and I loved the staff I...
