Panda Express — Restaurant in Orem

I've loved panda express for years, but this panda express franchise is kind of disappointing. I frequent(ed) this location a few times a week and they do a semi-ok job. They've forgotten to give me my receipt a few times and when I came back later to get it they said "oh sorry we don't store them in the system." Don't get me wrong, the food is great, the place is usually clean, but this location is just not run as well as others I've been to. Usually you'll have to wait a little longer than other locations to be helped (7 min on one occasion, with one guy in front of me), because the manager understaffs, because (I guess) the manager likes to scrap and save, which puts pressure and tension on the understaffed employees. There were literally two guys working there at 4p on one occasion. Who is staffing these guys? I'm surprised people like working there.

In addition, The portion sizes here are typically not fair compared to other Panda Express locations. It's inconsistent, especially if you're served by the owner. If you get served by the manager, you will likely receive 4-5 small pieces of chicken total if you order a plate, compared to like 10-11 at any other franchise. I don't know what the deal is with this location, but the antics just disappoint a customer. On one occasion I came in half an hour before closing time with the doors open, but the employees had almost no food left. We walked in and they said "sorry, this is all we have," and there were about 10 pieces of chicken in a wok. My guess is they refused to make more because they already cleaned up or something and they would get off their shift later if they started cooking again. Some of the employees are great, but the little frustrations tend to add up.

If you really want panda express, go to the provo one (where there's usually a long line because they have great service). Otherwise I'd save your money and go down the street to In-n-out (or the other 20 restaurants within a mile for that matter) for the same amount of food at...

I really didn't want to write a bad review but I just have explain the situation that occurred this last Tuesday 3/15/16. I arrived at the drive thru at 2:54 pm and there were 3 vehicles in front of me so I was expecting a decent amount of time before getting my order but what happened on Tuesday was simply ridiculous! Two of the three cars in front of me had already ordered and the last one a white truck just finished ordering as I pulled into the drive-thru line. Approximately 4 minutes went by and the first two that already ordered got their orders and had left. The white truck and I had to wait another 30 minutes (and I am not exaggerating even a tiny bit) to get our orders and both were regular sized orders. The white truck ordered a one entree, with rice and a bottled water and I ordered a 2 entree with half rice and lo mein and that's it!!! And the wait time was seriously 30 minutes for our two simple orders. I don't know what the heck was going on in there, not sure if the staff fell asleep, if the place was being held up by a gunman or what their problem was but that's inexcusable service! Either tell the customer that the wait time is going to be exceptionally long or something before making them wait 30 minutes!!! I left the Drive-Thru lane at 3:34 pm and got in it like I said earlier at 2:54 pm. The time is even on my receipt, I would have left but two cars pulled in behind me so I couldn't. Not too happy with my expierence tonight. I came in at 9 an hour before closing and they had half of the food put away. I asked for spring rolls they told me that they didnt have any. I asked them to make me some kindly and the lady rolled her eyes and said 10 too 15 min okay? I said yea that'll be fine. Then I was cashed out by a gentleman named milton. He seemed very unhappy and rude. No eye contact and was not professional about his tone and just said "yep" after I said have a good day! I come her often with my boyfriend and today they didnt have an Beijing beef and normally they would offer to make some more but they were pushy and were trying to get us out the door. Again. It was not busy!!!!! I would not recommend coming during the night, day shift has always impressed me. When we sat down to eat it was about 9:30. One of the workers started putting up chairs around us!!! Me and my boyfriend looked at each other stunned. She didnt put chairs up any where hit around us. At this time we were fed up and left. I really just want you to know that if you go to this panda you may not get the best expierence. I noticed as we were walking out a couple went in at 9:38 and they were told to leave!!! What?!?!?!?
