I recently had the pleasure of visiting Papasmash, a burger place that left me craving for more! From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the incredible aesthetics and mesmerizing neon lighting. It truly sets the perfect ambiance for a delightful dining experience.
I first heard about Papasmash during Burger Week, and let me tell you, their burgers live up to the hype! The flavors burst in your mouth, and each bite is a heavenly journey of satisfaction. And don't even get me started on the yuca fries – they are absolute perfection. However, I must admit, while the yuca fries are fantastic, I would have loved the option of sweet potato fries as well.
I must commend the staff at Papasmash, especially Nadia, for their exceptional customer service. On my last visit, I arrived just a few minutes past the regular menu cut-off time of 10:00 PM. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to order from the day menu, but Nadia was incredibly kind and accommodating. She let me order from the regular menu, despite my late arrival. Such thoughtfulness and flexibility truly impressed me.
This was my third visit to Papasmash, and I have never been disappointed. Usually, I indulge in the delectable offerings from the night menu, but their burgers are simply irresistible. The patties are juicy, the toppings are fresh, and the buns are perfectly toasted. Each burger is a harmonious symphony of flavors that leaves me craving for more.
Overall, Papasmash is a hidden gem that I am thrilled to have discovered. The stunning aesthetics and captivating neon lighting create an ambiance that enhances the dining experience. Their mouthwatering burgers, including the yuca fries, are incredibly delicious. I appreciate the kindness and flexibility of the staff, exemplified by Nadia's exceptional service. I highly recommend Papasmash to all burger enthusiasts, and I can't wait for my next visit to savor their...
Read moreI was super excited to try Papi's smash burger, and my experience was very underwhelming. I was really disappointed with my experience, as the menu, ambiance, and decor were really exciting. They are brand new, and they were participating in Orlando Burger Week 2023. The burgers we received were a bit overpriced for the portions and the quality. Now take in mind, I am all for quality ingredients for a justified price, but this didn't feel like that. $12-$16 for a petite average burger didn't quite feel adequate.
Firstly, their menu is very well written, and the ingredients they describe are very enticing/appealing. However when they deliver the burger itself, I found myself going back to the menu to make sure everything specified was on my actual burger. The Cuban Frita burger, did not taste like it had any ratio of Chorizo mixed in the patty. It tasted like straight beef, like a wrong patty was used. My OG burger was underseasoned and oversauced. It had no salt on the patties compared to the other burgers, one could clearly taste it. We also got a PapiChulo burger with cold caramelized bananas. Biting into a cold banana was not a pleasant experience for that burger. The yucca fries were okay, but nothing special.
The best thing we had was the cafe con Leche milkshake. It was delicious.
For $65 (3 burgers,1 fry, and 1 milkshake) we left still hungry.
I hope they succeed, but they need a little refinement. It could be growing pains, but again I was not amazed.
Be advised to check your receipt as well. I was charged original price for the burger week burger and an additional...
Read moreBeen here twice but was only able to eat once due to poor service.
1st time - excellent experience all around, both the Papi Chulo Burger and Yuca Fries were delicious! You could taste the carmelized banana and quality of the beef. Chimichurri had great flavor as well, and the sauce on the fries was amazing, and I don’t even like Mayo-based sauces.
Counter service restaurant, but I still left a tip.
I ordered a drink as well, but the cashier/food runner did not provide me a cup after I paid. Food took about 5 minutes to arrive, so having a drink to sip on would’ve been preferable. She also did not provide a cup when I was handed my meal - I had to kindly remind her and then met her back at the counter, not a big deal.
2nd visit - Arrived around 8:45PM on a Friday and was 2nd in line. There were 3 cooks standing in the back talking to each other and not doing anything, and no one was at the counter taking orders. The people in front of me seemed to have already placed their order but were leaning on the counter and possibly waiting on the cashier to return.
She eventually returned with a milkshake but did not acknowledge anyone in the restaurant. Meanwhile, a giant moth landed on my girlfriend. I looked towards the heating lights by the kitchen and saw other moths flying around. This coupled with the fact that we had been waiting 8 minutes with zero interaction from anyone working there (another employee was on her break inside the restaurant at one of the tables) forced us to leave and go...
