Waffle House — Restaurant in Oxford

You have to talk with the cook and have a good waitress or waiters also to be able to get a Chicken Salad made your way! Otherwise something that we have seen on the Waffle House Restaurant menu's before and isn't there now! So supposedly Waffle House Restaurants are only to cook and fix the foods that shows on their menus! That's not good enough for me, because I have been a long time customer with Waffle House Restaurants and they still carry a lot of food items that we don't see on the menus anymore! So the Corporate Offices Officials with the Waffle House Restaurants chains needs to make some better choices to their menus! Because there is not a lot of healthy choices on their menus today or that is appealing to the eyes! It was nice when the cook asked me as to how many boiled eggs that I wanted on my Chicken Salad! So this Chicken Salad was done really great with the Bed of Lettuce and Tomatoes and Sliced Mushrooms and Sliced Cheese and the Chopped Grilled Chicken on top with the Boiled Eggs quartered around the edges of the platter! That's how you make your customers happy! Plus I would like to suggest that the Waffle House Restaurants chains to redo their approach to the Side Salads and Tossed Salads! Which if done right the customers would order more! But to be totally taken off of the menus is totally wrong! That's just my opinion! Main point Get in good with your Waffle House Cooks and Waitresses and Waiters! If they do their jobs right then you will have a great meals!...

This morning my wife and I went to go eat here because it is the best waffle house around in my opinion. I gave 2 stars only for the fact that the food was amazing. There was a young waitress working and her very sick son was there too. He needed to see a doctor, and was coughing and had no reason to be in a food establishment. I felt horrible for this single working mother doing the best she can for her child and not being able to take him to the doctor because the manager would not let her leave. As a parent and working to support my kids I understood her frustration. She had to quit in the middle of us eating because she couldn't leave to take her son and let him get the care that he needed. Even if she has only worked there for 10 days that is unacceptable. My wife ran to her car and calmed her down while she was crying to make sure she was ok to drive. Why should this happen. No single parent, woman or man should have to quit their job because the job won't let them leave. My wife gave the cash tip to the young lady even though she was not able to finish waiting on us and we gave nothing to the manager who finished waiting on us like nothing happened. I rarely rant about Businesses but tonight I’m making an exception. The Waffle House in Oxford next to Cracker Barrel (Jimmy Hinton Dr) is a Waffle House I don’t plan to visit again soon. I tried calling them to place a to go order on my way home from Work. Of course they didn’t answer but since they are on my way home I just stopped in. I walked in and grabbed a menu. I stood close to the register before finally one lady looked at me and said “Can I help you?” . I told her I want to place a to go order. She then gets a attitude about her voice “No you can’t”. Thinking surely she’s joking I replied “I’m sorry, I can’t?” She then says “No you can go to one of the other locations we are dine in only for some reason” and walks off. I told her no thanks I guess l’ll just go home and eat. A plus side is she did apologize but They wasn’t crowded, maybe three Tables. I did go on to the location by Quintard Mall, my favorite location to go to. I got greeted with a friendly smile and they happily took my to go order.
