The atelier cafe is a great cozy place, very good for eating fast or enjoying peacefully. Possibility to take away, handy if you're in a hurry. The dishes are served quickly, generous like the Americans do, and bringing the French know-how. The manager, always smiling, supported by his team will take care of you and your expectations for you to spend the most pleasant moments. I chose the croque madame, often too disgusting or too heavy in some restaurant, I highly recommend it. Impressive but very light, an excellent béchamel with a salad and a touch of pepper sauce on the side to give a little "peps" to the dish. To finish a generous strawberry tart pastry cream and strawberries excellent with a slight acidity so that it is not too sweet. Like the Americans says ... AMAZING
Like the Americans...
Read moreCame in in a Sunday afternoon for brunch around 12pm. . First of all parking is busy so I suggest finding parking in the free downtown parking structure which is 2 blocks away. Also shaded inside so you car is nice and cool in the three digit weather. . When I walked to the resto, without knowing there was a waiting line. I went straight to the cash register and asked for a table of one. The server jose who was jolly and the best welcoming host, found a table for me right away. I skipped the waiting and was so glad it saved me time to go shopping some more in the area. . I ordered the smoke salmon croissant egg Benedict, this was so good. The croissant was flaky. The hollandaise sauce was perfect. The poach egg was leaky too, the way I love it. This dish stood out to me and would definitely go back in a heart beat. . I also add on a French onion soup, the presentation is wow. The soup wasn't salty which was perfect. The soup was savory. The cheese was cheesy with lots of string pull through out enjoying the soup. This soup was yum. Loved the baguette inside the soup which was still crunchy. . Overall it's a busy cafe. I mean there is lots of waiting during prime time. I suggest coming here early or table of one would be quicker for most places. I was glad to come here and experience good french food in psp! I was blown away with the food. Hope this review helps and thanks for reading. Have a...
Read moreHow do you say PERFECTION in French? This little breakfast spot has the best food! We are so happy we stumbled upon it.
I am not one to order French toast at restaurants, it’s usually boring and tasteless. However it sounded amazing on the menu and sure enough it was!!! It was homemade with quality ingredients, homemade bread, full of taste, topped with homemade caramel sauce and whipped cream. Yum! The fruit was fresh and full of flavor! I ordered scrambled eggs on the side and they were delicious. I also ordered a caramel latte which was excellent.
The owner, a former employee of the past owners, is a very kind and humble person. He typically works behind the coffee bar, making the coffees and selling pastries. He interacted with us and other customers. Our server was a young man who had excellent customer service. He frequently checked in on us and educated us on the history of this restaurant.
My girlfriend and I loved our food so much we came back on our second and final morning of our trip to Palm Springs. Both the owner and server both remembered us from the day before which was nice. We both enjoyed our previous days meal that we ordered the same items a second time.
If anyone is looking for a good cause restaurant, or authentic French inspired food, or just a nice quiet breakfast spot, this is the place. I will always return to this restaurant. If I could award more than 5...
