The Lemon Leaf cafe, in Lancaster, is nice. The menu is limited. Here you place your order at the counter and a server brings your food to the table. I like this type of set up when I'm meeting someone and we are paying separately. It takes the awkwardness out of receiving the check. I ordered the soup of the day. It was some sort of bean soup. I can't remember the name or what my friend ordered. That is how unmemorable and unexciting the menu is at this cafe. The food was okay. Nothing special, at all. The decor was mediocre as well. The service was on the left side of okay, too. My companion ordered a cake to go and even though our plates were cleared and it was obvious we we had concluded our meal, the server never asked if she was ready for her to-go dessert. She had to go fetch it herself. Not a big deal but, it doesn't make for superior customer service. I didn't use the bathroom but, apparently a key is required. I will give them another try. It is in the only interesting area of Lancaster. It is on Lancaster Blvd. Lancaster Blvd is our City's attempt at an attractive meeting area with quaint shops like antique stores, a candy store, a few restaurants, Theaters, museum, etc..... but, the energy does not compare to places like The Orange Circle or Downtown Long Beach. The stores are basic and not special. However, we have nowhere else around the Antelope Valley. So. I will go back, when...

It appeared it was a liked place by locals. During my visit the room filled up 3/4 with guests. I liked the atmosphere of the venue. Modern and it did not echo while the conversation was going on. The 3 stars are because the food was a bit high for what I had. The chicken was sliced in thin strips, the mushrooms the same and did not balanced to the pasta. I never was asked for a refill or top of on my drink and the company I had, they bad to request a refill. I gave a tip prior to service because you had to order at the counter and the menu was handed over the dessert counter to me. If I go there again, I will tip after I get the service. The possibility for a return visit is there. I like to give a venue a...

I had mixed feelings about this place! First off, when you can't help but ignore the massive sound of the refridgerator which literally buzzes throughout the entire restaurant. I think some music would help!

Secondly, the distribution is strange and the staff don't really offer help on how to navigate ordering. You order and pay at the counter.

The service was ok, but the staff was actually quite rude - especially the server.

The food was also just OK. The egg souffle was delicious, the salad was a joke. The Insalata Mista had 3 pine nuts, and 1 cherry tomato split in half - even though it's described as coming with pine nuts, tomatoes, and onions. It seems they skimp on quality and quantity.

Overall,...

Now located in Palmdale inside the Antelope Valley Country Club...near 24 freeway! Food items are the same...delicious. No bakery treats in the display case anymore but guilty pleasures and desserts are available! Eat inside or outside with beautiful views of the golf course . My favorites are the Greek Chicken Wrap, sausage pizza, and the Alfredo pasta varieties! Tropical iced tea is so fresh and crystal clear over ice with a carafe for refills. Open most days until 8 pm. Try it...the fresh salad dressings are mixed and not from a super size box store. Thanks for keeping your food as good as it used to be when you were serving us in Lancaster on the BLVD. I'll be back!

Lemon Leaf was a favorite spot of mine in Lancaster. So much so that I'd recommend everyone stop by if passing through. This was my first visit since the relocation to the Country Club. The things that made Lemon Leaf special to me are gone and it's smaller, milder version of its former self. What's left of the menu they boasted before was tasty enough (trust me, order the tots). Seating that overlooks the golf course is nice. Service was a little slow but running events for the club and the dining space being broken up can't helped I suppose. Ultimately the new location is a definite driver for clientele. I'll likely not be back or recommending like I used to.
