We were here in Palmdale to visit LA and see other attractions. It was raining and we thought about having Indian food. The service is good and the food too but the baingan bharta didn't taste like it and similarly the Srilankan chicken curry didn't taste like one either. I have to say that any kind of biriyani (chicken/vegetable), is not worth eating here. The naan, is good but the chaat papdi that I was looking forward to eating but was a disappointment. There's no papdi and the yogurt has cheese too. If you have eaten a good chaat papdi then you will cry looking at this one. I was very disappointed and the rest was just to finish off dinner.
For vegetarians, there's an option called mock chicken which is actually not meat. One of our friends used the restroom and said good went after eating the food so you can imagine. I will not recommend this place but if you have no choice then trying out their cooking is not bad just don't have in mind that you will get to eat a good biriyani or baingan bharta or so. It's all as per the...
Read moreI can't stop talking about this place! My son and I tried the Palmdale Mahli's twice now and was pleasantly surprised by the differences from the Lancaster location. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted kindly by staff. The restaurant chairs are much more comfortable and the lighting is more ambient. It was nice for a lunch time meal. As soon as you are seated, the staff brings you iced water with cucumber and complimentary lentil soup. My son wasn't a fan of the lentil soup, but I really enjoyed it. We ordered the samosas, mango naan, chicken curry, and the tea. The meal was amazing! The tea is piping hot but the flavor is my absolute favorite!! Its creamy and so delicious. My son ordered a mango Lassi togo and it was the perfect sweet treat for after our meal. Overall, the wait staff is way more attentive and friendly. Be sure to grab some of the little sprinkle candies on the way out. They are a candy coated licorice and are a perfect sweet crunch as you walk to your car. Go...
Read moreThe prices have recently significantly gone up and not all prices on the website have been updated yet but are apparently in the process. When I say significantly I mean that the chicken Tikka Masala that is $13.99 on their website is now $19.99. I ended up getting the chicken vindaloo. The Punjabi tea that was $3.99 is now $5.99! For a cup of tea! I would much rather pay a few bucks for a gigantic Thai tea from the place down the road than twice that price for a fraction of the amount. Besides the prices, the first tea cup they brought me had lipstick on it. Gross. I paid extra for the "spicy garlic" Naan which was quite bland with minimal seasoning. I would not order it again - not worth the extra cost over the regular Naan. I will say though that the service was excellent. Everyone was very polite, and the food came out quick. The service pretty much made up for the other little things I mentioned. I will be back again, but not sure how often since it doesn't seem to be a very...
