China Gourmet — Restaurant in Palmetto Bay

Currently traveling so I am without a car and tight on cash. Luckily, I found China Gourmet on a 3rd party app and was able to order on my mobile and pay through the app.

I ordered the chicken curry and General Tao's shrimp. A large order of white rice was also included, along with a free pork eggroll with my order. There is a $20 minimum and a $3 delivery fee. My meal was $30+ with tip.

They delivered the food in less than 30 minutes! Everything was nestled in a nice recycled box, which I think is way more enviro-friendly than a brown bag and plastic bag.

The shrimp was delicious; large prawn-like shrimp, breaded and swimming in General Tao's sweet and sour sauce. Bits of broccoli is scattered throughout the entree.

The chicken curry was okay, a little lacking. There were barely any carrots and potatoes but there was plenty of onions (I like onions so I didn't mind too much). The curry flavor only hits you for a second, but overall it was a little bland.

Neither dish was spicy, I had ordered the dish "medium" online.

The pork eggroll was a little soggy and for some reason, it was pink inside. Not that the pork meat was pink, the entire filling was pink?! It was okay; I mean, it was free.

I had requested extra hot sauce and some garlic chili sauce - I got neither request fulfilled.

This food was awful. We tried this based on some decent reviews and instantly regretted it. Wonton soup was nothing but chicken broth and wontons with barely any filling, the "fried" wontons were a soggy, grease soaked, flavorless, burned mess, and the food was your basic low quality americanized Chinese food. Fried rice tasted like semi burnt packaged yellow rice with zero vegetables in it. I had Moo Goo Gai Pan and the chicken tasted cheap and chemically injected, veggies were soggy. The fourth picture showcases the amount of "filling" inside the fried wonton. Miniscule amount with zero spices or flavoring. SUPER mediocre, gross, and low quality food I will not order again. I really regret going here. My first time going here. The food is horrible. All of it. I ordered the jumbo special fried rice. The rice didn’t taste like Chinese rice. There was more rice than vegetables and meat. Rice only had chicken. And a little bit of the other meats. But mostly chicken. It had hardly no vegetables in it. It had no eggs. At all. The chicken wings were stale and uncooked. Ordered a special chow mein taste like nothing. It looked like a they cooked it with water honestly. Ordered the special and it had no beef.
