The Seaside Getaway We Waited for So Long… Only to Be Let Down ||⸻||Hyatt place Panama City Beach||||We stayed at this hotel and had mixed impressions.||||Pros:|| • Beautiful location: clean white sand and a wonderful sea.|| • Spacious and comfortable rooms.||||Cons:|| 1. Beach chairs and umbrellas|| • The website states that there are beach chairs for hotel guests, but in reality, each room gets only two chairs and one umbrella. For a family of four, this is not enough. If you want to rent extra chairs and an umbrella, it costs at least $50 USD per day for two additional chairs, which is quite expensive.|| • What is also not mentioned on the hotel’s website is that the beach service is actually run by an independent company, not the hotel itself. The hotel only covers the cost of two chairs and one umbrella per room, and if you are unhappy with the service on the beach, there is no one at the hotel to complain to.|| • Chairs are available only from 9 AM to 5 PM. This is not logical, because before 9 AM many guests also come to the beach to enjoy the early morning sun when it is softer and not too hot — but it is impossible, since the chairs are locked until staff arrive.|| • After 5 PM, when the sun becomes pleasant again, all the chairs and umbrellas are removed.|| • Even though the service is supposed to last until 5 PM, the staff starts collecting chairs as early as 3 PM. At the same time, they drive loudly up and down the beach with their vehicle, passing right between rows of chairs just a few feet away from guests, disturbing the atmosphere and making it difficult to relax and enjoy the beach.|| • Umbrellas are frequently closed even with a light breeze. They are not secured properly in the sand, and twice they almost hit us when falling. In nearby hotels, umbrellas are installed securely and remain open.|| • When I asked one of the staff members to leave our umbrella open, he refused and even said that if I opened it myself, they would simply take it away. This really spoiled our beach experience, as we came here to enjoy the sun and the sea without worrying about our children staying under direct sun.|| 2. Housekeeping|| • The cleaning staff does not speak English at all, so we had to communicate via a translator app. For a hotel of this level, staff should at least have basic English skills.|| • Housekeeping is provided only every other day, which makes no sense — we are paying for each day of our stay, and daily cleaning service should be included.|| • Even when they come, the service is very superficial: they change towels, take out trash, and sometimes poorly make the beds. Floors are never swept or cleaned, which is a big issue with sand being carried into the room. After more than a week, the room clearly required deeper cleaning.|| • Another illogical detail: housekeeping starts very early in the morning, around 9 AM, when most guests are just waking up or going to breakfast. If you are still in the room at that time, they simply leave a note saying they could not enter, and then you must call and specially request the service that should already be included. It feels almost like a “penalty” for being in your room in the morning.|| 3. Breakfast|| • The included breakfast was very repetitive, almost identical every day. The only variation was one morning when pancakes were replaced with French toast, but otherwise the food was exactly the same — if it was even available.|| • Plates and cutlery were often missing, and we had to wait for replacements.|| • Food frequently ran out (eggs, yogurt, fruit). Sometimes there were no bananas or oranges at all, and on one day there were no cut fruits available. This was disappointing, considering breakfast was included in the room price.||||Overall:||The beach and sea are truly beautiful, and the rooms are spacious. However, due to the poor organization of beach service, housekeeping, and breakfast, our stay was far less enjoyable than expected. Unfortunately, I am not sure I would choose this hotel again, despite its great...

Read moreThis was our first time here, it was my daughter's 10th birthday and she wanted to visit the beach. We arrived on 7/21/25 just before 2pm. The lady at reception was very pleasant and told us that she could tag our bags and we go check out the facilities until our room is ready. So, we got our bags tagged, leave them in the lobby and went to the pool. We decided to get something to eat at the pool bar. My daughter wanted a pizza but she was so picky with the choices, the lady at the beach bar (a very slim white lady) suggested we can customize and order a cheese pizza, so we did. We also, ordered the boom boom shrimp, a side of fries and my son got some wings and a side of fries. We got some drinks while we were waiting for our food. When the food arrived. She put down some chicken strips and fries before me and some wings for my son. She had a pizza sitting over by the bar so I waited for her to return with that to tell her I got the wrong order. I finally got her attention and told her my order was wrong. She finally gave me what I ordered but my son was still missing his fries and she took back the pizza to the kitchen and took a while to return. When she returned, I brought it to her attention that we still didn't receive the pizza and the fries for my son. She gave him a side of fries and shouted at me saying "you didn't order a pizza" I was shocked as this was the first thing I ordered. I outlined that to her. I guess all the other customers heard as she was upset and shouting at me. She ignored me and went about serving at customers. She walked by me and I asked her what is happening to the pizza and she said "I figured you wanted it so I ordered it, do you want it or not?" At this point my daughter was in tears and was telling me to leave the pizza as she doesn't want it anymore. It was her birthday and this lady ruined it with her nasty attitude. The pizza finally came and a gentleman from the kitchen came over and served it to us, I asked for some to go boxes because at this point the atmosphere was very unpleasant. Another gentleman came over and checked if we were ok and needed anything. I was in such shock that I just told him we were ok and waiting on some to go boxes. He gave us some boxes and we boxed up our meals so fast and went to eat in the lobby. At about 15:50 we met a lovely Jamaican lady, I forgot the spelling of her name it starts with a "S". She checked us in, she also wished my daughter a happy birthday. She made a difference to our previous experience at the pool. Thank you for being so kind and friendly. Our room was lovely, we loved the view. We could have done with a microwave in our room to reheat leftovers but we managed. Breakfast the first morning 7/22 and finally day 7/24 was hit and miss, there wasn't much variety. My son was upset as the choices of meat were pork based and he doesn't eat pork. Things ran out quickly and took a while to get replenished, I had to keep asking for things like forks, bowls etc The OJ was like flavored water, I had to ask for OJ. I think they can do better with the breakfast. Overall, the location of the hotel was great. We went out to the Park Pier and went in the Sky Wheel and walked the Pier. The 1st night we went out for dinner and that was close by. The second night we eat at Coconut Charlie's and that was a pleasant experience. My daughter wanted her meal to go but when she realized how pleasant the server was (Brittany) she decided she wanted to dine there. Thanks Brittany. Having the beach so close was beautiful to look at and very calming. Parking was just across the street and there were lots of...
