THIS IS A FULL REVIEW! We just got back ! Stayed from July 29th to August 1st in room 657 in the tower. I'm giving 3 stars because the employees are super nice, the location and view were amazing and it was within my budget... However I would give 2 stars for the actual hotel rooms themselves.

Basics: it's a decent Budget hotel on the beach to stay at near Pier Park and lots of things in walking distance. It's an okay clean room with clean beds.. wear shoes at all times because the floor does have grains of sand here and there that were missed which is normal for the beach. But they have two pools! One below the tower and one in the courtyard area. There is also a hot tub below the tower! It is very easy to get down to the beach, not a lot of walking! Overall good place to stay, met a lot of people and had the best time on the beach! Would stay here again with some extra ensurances..

Details: we arrived at 1:44 p.m. check-in isn't until 4:00 but the lady at the desk was so freaking friendly and nice and we loved her, thankfully she checked in our room was already cleaned and ready to go which is rare! So we got to check in early. We stayed in the tower on the 6th floor in room 657. My issues with the room were that we got a double queen with kitchenette .. there was NO door to separate our room from the 'living room/kitchen' area that had the fold out couch bed and our TV in both rooms were so small! We couldn't see it from the bed hardly but we look in the window at the room next door and it's so nice with a door to separate rooms and a big flat screen TV on the desk it looked remodeled or something.. room 657 is not. There was also a giant crack in the window above the sofa bed and rust stains on the sofa cushions.. we didn't sit on them but the pullout bed was fine. The bed was clean and decently comfortable - there were no bugs but I did find a dead giant cockroach underneath our AC which probably came from outside because I never saw any inside the actual hotel itself. The bathroom door had water damage at the bottom and the courtyard pool is supposed to have a pool bar called Mingos but it's closed up and I was there Monday through Thursday and there was a construction area where they were relaying bricks but no one was working on them, they just were caution taped off. Also in between the stove and counter was super dirty and probably hasn't been clean in a really long time. And outside under every AC unit there is a planter pot to collect all the water that comes out of them.. our balcony was constantly wet because of this but every room has them on the outside of both doors. Also every piece of cement on that property needs pressure washed because it is so dirty so wear your shoes everywhere! The pool closes at 10:00 pm but the one next door closes at 11:00 which I wish they would fix and they don't turn the pool lights on, I'm not even sure if they work. It was so creepy swimming in the dark pool areas at night. There are lights above but they are dim and yellow so it's very dark at the pool. Someone should definitely start turning the pool lights on! But the pools are super clean, lots of chlorine in them! And the hot tub feels really nice! They are not big big pools but they are normal sized inground pools. Also they only have one elevator and it can be quite slow, sometimes it gets stuck on a floor when no one is in them because kids like to push all the buttons on every floor! The only ice you get is the bag you have to buy. Make sure you hit up the Walmart down the street to get a foods or drinks you want to keep in the fridge. All in all yes there were a lot of issues but they were issues I could deal with because we were only in our rooms long enough to shower and sleep ... I would stay here again with the exception that I get an updated room because I saw that they have them! The employees are really nice and I didn't have to deal with any extra charges or anything like that. I paid for the room and there were no surprises! If you are on a budget and have kids...

On vacation to attend Seabreeze Jazz Festival, May 25-28. Received a call from front desk personnel to upgrade room while driving from North Carolina with room with stove, refrigerator and sink. Room 515. The end corner was recommended. Our arrival time to the hotel was close to midnight central standard time. My daughter and I became excited to receive an upgrade. The excitement ended upon opening the door and entering the room with an overwhelming strong musky and mildew smell. Which took my breath away. I immediately opened the door to the balcony for a flow of air to flow through the room with the front door propped open. The fan was turned on. The bathroom vent was turned. Air fresher and body sprayed was sprayed all over the entire room. I had to sit on the balcony to breathe after our 10 hour drive from North Carolina. I do want to point out the room was CLEAN. I had to wear a mask to remain in the room and breathe without gagging breathing the musky and mildew smell. The next day my daughter went to the office to inform the office personnel of the smell we had to endure. To make a long story short: from the manager informed us someone was going to check to room for the smell while we were out eating lunch. From the discussion of the smell after our return, the smell was due to the air conditioner turned off and the hotel location near the beach was the reason for the smell. We were told upon our return if the smell was still in the room, we would transferred to another room. Due to the festival’s time schedule we did not have the time to wait for an hour for another room be cleaned and prepared to switch and move all our personal items to be moved. My daughter was told once we returned from the festival our new room would be available. This did not happen. We returned from the festival after the last musical guest after 11:00. The late night desk personnel had no knowledge of what we were told earlier before we left for the festival. There were no notes to share with her from the manager, to inform her of the room we were promised to receive upon our return from the festival. We stood in office and was told “there are not any other rooms available to move to”. The entire hotel was full. The night personnel did suggest to remove the filters from the air conditioners. There is air conditioner near the door and the bed. The other is the area where the table and chairs near the window. We removed the filters. I discovered the air conditioner near the first bed was the overwhelming smell we both endured the entire time from Wednesday night to Monday morning. Due to Seabreeze festival’s itinerary, we were out all day until our return late after 10:30 p.m. The notion of the room location being near the beach has no significance to our experience. We have been to Myrtle Beach near the beach. Our room was clean and we did not endure what we experienced at The Flamingo Hotel and Tower. The smell as I said was definitely from their “front vent”. The entire vent needs to be removed and replaced due to the smell. The carpet each day was saturated with moisture. We purchased candles and air fresher due to the smell. The air fresher, the burning of the candle, every night upon returning to room and immediately upon waking up the front door was propped open, the back door was opened until we were ready to leave. The vanilla candle filled to the room to smell pleasant, the smell remain as prominent even with the candle burning. The Mingos Bar was closed the entire time. Their jacuzzi outside covering was filthy from looking down from our fifth floor room. Compared to the appearance of the Hampton Inn & Suites Hotel jacuzzi next to the TFHT hotel, I would be scared to get in TFHT hotel jacuzzi.

The gallery photos of the rooms does not reflect our room at the hotel. The hotel location was fabulous. The staff was fabulous. However, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It is not the say, the manger did not try to accommodate us. This experience was very...

We got a great deal on a room for 5 days. We initially asked for a king suite, but they were apparently not available & gave us 2 queen beds instead. Upon entering, the room looked clean, spacious, and beautiful. 2 TV's (one in the front room & one in the kitchen/dining room, 2 queen beds, large vanity/sink, kitchenette (stove, oven, cabinets, refrigerator, microwave, glasses, mugs, plates, bowls, pot & pans and cooking utensils.) Back room with table, chairs, 2 windows and a couch. Our bathroom was SUPER small, dated, & had a lot of baseboard salt erosion. Beds and sheets were clean, upon my black light & bed bug inspection. The couch was disgusting and stained. Cabinet broken above microwave. One of our windows above the couch was cracked. Microwave handle was broken, but apparently poorly glued back on. No coffee maker. Little black hairs all over the microwave, stove, and bathroom. They do not provide paper towels or any cleaning products (which post-pandemic is a must & we had to buy, so I could clean properly.) There was an air conditioner in the front, by the beds, that stopped working on the 2nd day. We told them 3 times and a guy finally came to look at it. He spent about ten minutes looking at it and said he'd be back the next day to see if it was fixed, but never came back. It still didn't work. EVERY morning they'd wake me up slamming trash cans on the outside floor and banging doors literally yelling, "housekeeping". Elevator went out and we had to pack stuff up 12 half-flights of stairs. If you want coffee, you have to go all the way down to the office. Parking is awful! Tried to call the office, but phone was disconnected. They do have a pretty decent pool and walk from the hotel to the beach. If you do intend on staying here, make sure you pack all the cleaning essentials and if you need coffee in the morning, pack a coffee maker!!! Try getting a room on the lower floor as they told us they service the elevator once a week, but they never know what day. Be PREPARED! UPDATE: May 2024 My husband made reservations 3.5 months in advance and asked for the spacious room we had in 2023. The lady said there would be no problem with the accommodation. On the drive down, we called AGAIN to confirm our reservation AND accommodations. When we arrived, not only did we not get the floor/room we were told 3 times that we were going to get, but it was about a third of the size with no patio! The lady working did not care at all & was very rude. We asked for a discount at the very least and nothing. The second night we were there, we found a roach the size of my hand!!!! I'm not kidding, it was huge! The walkway in front of our door was about 2.5ft in width, so we couldn't even sit & enjoy the view. We had to go up & down a flight to sit on an unfinished patio/bar?? There was a coffee maker this time, but I brought my keurig. The bathroom smelled like mold and sure enough, there was mold in the shower drain. They still said there was nothing they could do for us. We had to purchase AGAIN, cleaner & paper towels. They had dishes and silverware, but we refused to use it. Everything was dated and musty. The stove, refrigerator, and shower were covered in rust spots. I also found some sort of black grease on the toilet seat. Just foul! PLEASE...GO...

If you are on a budget and have kids it's for you.

Trending Stays Worth the Hype in Panama City Beach

This experience was very disheartening.
