Nothing Over A Dollar — Local services in Panama City Beach

The worst gift shop ever. It’s a scam! My family of six went here to let our kids grab a few cheap souvenirs on our way back home like we’ve done in years past. When it came time to check out I took the kids to the car while my husband checked out and paid. Thought it was odd when the girl checking us out grouped the items by child and then said she’d just charge them all the same?? Each of our four kids got about 7 items each and my husband grabbed three $5 t-shirts. We expected the price to be around $50-$60.

Imagine my disbelief when my husband got in the car and said it was all $89!?! I couldn’t believe he paid that because I would have just said no thanks and left. He showed me the receipt which did not have an itemized list it was just the amount. He said the girl just added it all up in her head. Nothing in this store was a dollar and the check out clerk even said everything is at least $2 when my husband questioned the price. They should post a sign stating “everything $2 and over” and change the name of the store. Oh and no refunds. Otherwise I would have taken it all back. Ridiculous! Hope this can help another family. I went to the store and it is nothing like the past. You may see a few things for a dollar but you won't know until you ask and most other things are from 1.00 and up. Like the post said they sell junk and VERY OUTDATED stuff. Not much to buy for souvenirs as most people already have at home. There is 2 stores connected and the 1st one is horrible but the second one has more shells but more junk. Most people walking out with nothing. T-shirts are seconds and not sure how old they are and may be dry rotted. I'm sorry for the bad reviews but it's the truth. I would not recommend but most people want to look. You might get lucky as you never know what you might find but was not for me. If you want shells and glassware with Panama City Beach on it this is for you. Some things were coming unglued. If you need old flip phone cases will find there. Some things may be reasonable but I feel are old and not sure if will last. Save your gas and time and pay a little more at your 1st or 2nd stop. EVERYTHING is OVER a dollar. It is very deceiving. Most items are outdated, broken, or dirty. Not one single globe had clean water and most were half empty with dirty water. I saw a few shirts with price tags so we assumed everything was a dollar until we got to the cashier and she started pricing everything as if she KNOWS ALL the prices in the entire store. I say that because she didn't scan the items and just rang it manually. In my opinion, if the owners would have the decency to put a sign up. All you need is to print a few papers and put them at the entrance saying that it's new owners. Therefore new management (which is what I was told). It wouldn't have been as terribly disappointing. If you can't price everything then at least let your costumers know that from the get go. I would have still shopped just more carefully and not wasted the cashiers' time as we asked for the prices on all the items and have them put most of the items back where they belong because we were not going to pay $4 or $5 for worn out or poor...
