LONG REVIEW WARNING
(CliffsNotes Version: This location is awful, go to the Texas Roadhouse that’s across the street)
We had Chili's delivered to us, we did not visit inside)
When we got our order, the “check off” ticket clearly showed that 2 things in our order were missing, but they sent it out anyway. We decided not to make a fuss. Things happen sometimes, it wasn’t too expensive. Benefit of the doubt, right?
That was until my husband started to eat his order. (He got all of his stuff, it was mine that was missing) and didn’t feel so hot after eating a couple bites of his burger, but thought maybe it was just the grease. Put that down and went for his Chili Queso (which they did not provide chips for. Luckily we had some in the hotel) and bit into something, that was not beans, or meat…just something not for human consumption. He then proceeded to get very sick.
So I called that same night, explained everything to the manager on duty and was told I would have to talk to the manager the next day, since I didn’t want to drive over there that night. Well no, that’s why we had the food delivered.
The next day as directed, went to the Beach location with the receipt showing the missing items and the items that arrived that had made my husband sick. Hoping to either get a refund or a gift card that I could use at the town location.
When I came in, she was aware of what happened, hence why all the sudden she knew the “delivery person was dropping things in the parking lot”. Even made excuses on why the “check out” ticket wasn’t completed or signed by the person that packed it. That customers outside apparently saw said delivery driver dropping things and were handing it to said delivery person. Then said items he would take and go deliver. I was a little confused on this as, if you knew items were being dropped and such, why not stop said person, or at least call the customer and explain what happened and if there were any issues, to let them know. As the manager on duty the next day, you knew there was a problem. So instead of taking it upon themself to better rectify the situation, she just let it go and used it as a foothold to cast off blame.
Her resolution was that she would have the order re-made. When I explained that no, we don’t want the food remade, as my husband got sick, we’re not staying here to eat it and driving the hour home, the food wouldn’t be good. I then said, again, if a refund isn’t possible, a gift card is just fine. She explained that all she could do was re-make the order after I CLEARLY said it was a waste of food. She ignored me and also kept my receipt and put the order into the kitchen. I told her again that was a waste of time and we didn’t want food that had already gotten one of us sick. I don’t know why I had to keep repeating myself. Even so, ignored still, she walked away to the kitchen. Mind you, I was never rude, never raised my voice, nothing.
Clearly nothing was going to be done to actually help. So, I left. I was going to let this all go, but the more I thought about it, the more angry I got. Especially after going to the in town location a couple days later and was told, “Yeah, that's common practice out there. Can’t tell you how many customers complain.” If you look at their Google Rating it's a 3.9 out of 1,400+ reviews. The low stars have all the same complaints. Bad staff. Poor cleanliness of the restaurant. Rude management. From the ONE time I ordered delivery, then had to go into the restaurant, I can absolutely say I agree with the negative comments.
All the people here that say, don’t even try, just go to the Texas Roadhouse next door, are not wrong. Skip this Chili’s and go to the Roadhouse or even the McDonald’s across the street would be a...
Read moreTwo adults one infant and one three year old. So the "Bottom Line Up Front" Manager gets a 1 Star, Food gets a 1 Star, Server "Timmy" gets a 4 Star. Manager: Had 11 open tables, 6 were booths, one was 1/2 booth 1/2 chair. We requested a booth, Manager told my wife it will be about 15 minutes. We were the only ones waiting. I asked if we could sit in any of the open booths, he responded kindly, but said there were not enough severes, and all the restuarants are the same way "it is because of the season". He did offer to seat us earlier but with no service. We said OK and he sat us at the 1/2 booth table... I asked our server if we could switch, Timmy cleaned a booth immediately... we were seated by the Manager with no menu, silverware, or kids menu with crayons... Timmy fixed that before we even realized the Managers mistake. The Manager was under experienced, qualified, and unable to make common sense decisions needed to make a Peanut butter and jelly sandwich. FOOD: Chips ...Ok, white queso dip... not the same as any Chilis I've had in 23 years.. (I'm 42). served on a COLD iron skillet, cheese had the viscosity like jello pudding. Wife -loved her salmon, 3 year old .... fresh broccoli that was good for previously frozen florets, pineapple seemed to be NOT from a can which is great, but there was a big ass "curly" black hair on one piece (found at end of meal, I have light brown hair, wife and 2 boys toe heads/blond). MY FOOD: honey-chipotle chicken strips on waffles... forgot the waffles, sauce was like cheap mass-produced, similar to cheap Chinese takeout sweet and sour chicken. Fries were good. The corn on the cob was so over cooked that it was mushy... zero crunch or crisp when I bit into it.. the butter had solidified and was clumpy... so gross. SERVER, TIMMY: Knew his menu, did great with the things under his control. Seemed to know that manager was horrible and he was always trying to make up for it, not just to us but his and another section. THIS IS MY FIRST...
Read moreStart off with, our waitress was what I thought was a bit snippy, but I put that off as being a busy night. Our drinks were wrong 3 different times. When our food came out to us a half hour after ordering it, the waitress tells us that she had the kitchen remake my daughter's cheese fries, and she was sorry about the wait because the kitchen was swamped.....the fries that accompanied my "gourmet Boss burger" we're warm at best. The beef Patty on said burger was room temperature and the brisket slices on top of it felt like they just came out of the refrigerator. When the waitress did come back by our table I asked her for a box to take my meal home to heat it up. She half sincerely said I'm sorry let me go get you a box. Came back with the box and offered to tell the mgr about my dissatisfaction, to which I replied, "dont worry about it,it won't make a difference". She comes back and tells me the mgr is real busy on the grill and will be a few mins, once again I tell her don't bother. Mgr comes out all smiles and buddy buddy saying he's sorry he was late, but was in the prep line. Told him don't worry about it, we won't be back, and his reason for his delay was different than what the waitress told us. So if the kitchen is so backed up, why did I see a woman wearing a smock labeled "kitchen boss" walking the dining area. Manager did offer to "take the check to make some adjustments". Told him I've already paid it and we are on our way out. Nothing said after that. Now I'm sure some "corporate smoother" will reply to this review with some smoke blowing response, but believe me....it will take a little to get me to walk back into a Chili's again after the way we're were treated, and the facial expressions given by the...
