My first experience at Pineapple Willy’s was OK. A lot of people suggested that I try this restaurant. The restaurant was right off the beach in Panama City,Florida. The food was good, however I was not impress with the customer service. Two young ladies were checking people in for tables and one asked “how many was in my party “ and I stated just me ,so she proceeded to laugh and ask the other young lady behind her “was their a table for one”? and she say “yes” (I didn’t get that but it wasn’t a friendly greeting ). Another staff member came up and escorted me to my table asking me again if I was alone ? I told her yes and explain that I’m a flight attendant so I’m not always with a group of people, although I didn’t think anyone needed to know this, but I felted a little out of place because I was asked once before and I’m sure her coworker communicated that I was alone with her. When I got seated I waited about 10 to 12 minutes before Aaron my waitress came over to ask me what I would like to drink. He was pretty friendly and the restaurant was busy so I’m guessing that’s why it’s took him a few minutes to get to me. He did offer to bring me a menu but they had a digital menus and while I was waiting I just scanned it so I already knew what I wanted to order. The set up was really great for a beachfront restaurant with inside and outside seating arrangements. And the beach is a few steps away so the view was great. The only reason I cannot give this a five star rating is because of the customer service. First impression is everything for me. I definitely would recommend coming as a group to this restaurant or at least one more person so that it wouldn’t as awkward.

I grew up in Panama City but it wasn't until I'd been gone into the world for 25 years that I finally decide to try Pineapple Willy's. And for that...I am truly saddened. I was on a small pass-through vacation last weekend & needed a place to have dinner on a Sunday evening. For some unknown reason, I chose to drive from my hotel at Bay Point to Pineapple Willy's, one of the few places from my childhood of 25+ years ago. OK, nostalgia aside, the place was awesome. I chose to dine outside which means I was escorted down a long boardwalk to right above the surf. I only wish I'd visited in a warmer month! The blinds were pulled down to keep out the chill winds but I could easily hear the waves crashing under me. I ordered the Caesar Salad to start with a Mahi Mahi BLT main & Key Lime Pie for dessert. Caesar Salad: Don't' mistake this for a single-person salad! It's frickin' huge! Crisp lettuce & perfect blend of cheese & dressing. Mahi Mahi BLT: This sandwich is divine! A flaky grilled mahi mahi fillet on a sourdough bun with lettuce, tomato & bacon with a spicy Dijon mustard sauce. Incredible! Key Lime Pie: I'll leave my rating at 5 stars even though this wasn't in par with a true Florida Key Lime Pie. It was a lime pie. Acceptable, but not in the stellar range of the rest of the meal. I will be back. Most likely this summer with family. Forgive the weird tint to the pics. I dined on the pier where all the lighting is amber. >.<

We had been to Pineapple Willy's over 10years ago and figured we'd try it again since it was still up and running. Our experience, this time around, was not the same as our previous one. Pineapple Willy's is overated. If you go there for the drinks, you should be fine, but don't go for the food. I ordered the Blackened Mahi Plate ($30), which comes with 2 seared mahi strips topped with jellied salsa, a side of corn on the cob, mashed potatoes or fries, and a slice of "toast". When I read the menu, I thought the salsa was fresh, like pico de gallo. Maybe I overlooked the menu but i got a jellied salsa. The mahi was overcooked which made it hard to chew. By the end of my meal, my jaw was hurting. The mashed potatoes tasted like boxed ones (not sure if they were or not). The corn on the cob tasted like corn on the cob (i.e. nothing special about it). The server brought out margerine spread for the corn. The "toast" was very soft. Not sure if this is how they mean to serve it or if it was actually supposed to be toasted. I ordered the Island Nachos for my kiddos and they were not impressed. They hardly touched the toppings and they LOVE nachos. I tried some of it to see why they didn't like them and i realized that the pulled pork was kinda soggy. Can pulled pork even be soggy? Im not sure how else to describe it. It definitely felt like maybe it was canned pulled pork? The salsa was the same jellied salsa that was on my plate. Do they add this salsa to everything?? And the queso blanco was not runny enough to top all the chips so a lot of chips didn't have any queso. Overall, we were extremely disappointed. Especially because all the dishes were expensive but im guessing they get away with it because they are a brand. Will definitely not be returning for the food, unless it's for salad. They got the Ceasar Salad right! Will return for Lemonade Daquiri I ordered. It was delicious!! It tasted like frozen lemonade. Pineapple Willy's, please change your dishes or your cook. One of them isn't working out for you.

Pineapple Willy’s is a great stop on any beach visit, we can recommend it. We love pretty much everything about this place, it’s really quite well designed to handle large unruly beach guests and families and a very efficient manner! We sat on the covered outside area and had a very knowledgeable server, and the food was excellent! I like how they provide a limited but efficient menu with no custom orders. The food was all delicious and enjoyed by all, I think the pineapple specific rings and coleslaw were a treat. The view of the outdoor seating was great and extends onto the beach so you can really enjoy the view. Some of the menu items are expensive like drinks and etc, probably a marketing efficiency item just like the limited menu, but this is designed to get you to pay for the refill at a discount, and along with up selling in the 1$ shot added to the drinks it seems a bit steep. (Just making you aware, I enjoyed my pineapple Willy drink overall) I think my pain point was trying to find something warm for my child at the giftshop, cheapest xs sweater was $52+ so bring a long sleeve or hoodie if it’s windy. (There are cheaper shirtsleeve or long sleeve options in there but it’s still pricey) Overall, good food and a great view. Staff and security end to end. We would come back again on the next beach visit.

If you’re at PCB and haven’t been to PW’s 🍍 you’re missing out! First off … get the insulated mugs for your icy cold beverages… 3 sizes to choose from and refillable while you’re at the beach all week long! (& bring them to the restaurant too… You’ll thank me later.) Pro tip… come early. Like go there for lunch if you don’t wanna wait over an hour. The views are even better in the daytime. We learned this by showing up at 7pm and the wait was 1:45 min…. If this is your jam, no problem, there’s a sit down bar, gift shop, and there’s always the beach if you need to wait to be seated. We came back the next day at 12:30 and had a five minute wait… We sat on the outside pier with a great view of the ocean. We had a fantastic server named Summer and excellent service all around. No problems, no wait, no rush… We ordered several dishes and they were spectacular! (Be sure to order the additional sauces, they add an amazing flavor punch to your meal!) We ordered Al E Gator bites to start, then a Fried shrimp Willy Basket, Mahi - Mahi Willy Basket with pineapple slaw, Mahi - Mahi BLT blackened with grilled pineapple ring & teriyaki glaze…, and a kids clam strips meal. Also just had to order a kids drink in the adorably ugly Pineapple Willy souvenir cup! ( also available in the gift shop for $6). A+ from beginning to end.
