Does Caesars entertainment care anymore? Who is in charge of food and beverage for the company? I'd like to know because that person needs fired. The state of the "French" themed restaurants at the Paris is shockingly bad.
I remember the first time I came to Paris back in 2006. It was cool and the theme was on point. 12 years later, you can just tell that there's a serious lack of direction within the company as they're stuck with themed properties, but they're half-a**ing the execution because they don't care about the theme anymore.
To get to this "bakery," one has to pass between the buffet and Martorano's. Both times that I've been to Paris in the span of about 90 days, it smells like dirty kitchen rags in this area of the property. You can't tell me not a single employee can smell that. The Paris Buffet is a disaster, but that's a different review.
Just to access this restaurant, you have to hold your breath just to get here. Great first impression.
Walking in to this bakery, you're met with a display case of factory made desserts. They're pretty, but they're not fresh and they're not French. I didn't even see madeleines, the bakery's namesake, for sale! They did have "macaroons" for sale (American coconut dessert) but were actually factory made "macarons" in packages of 6 for $14.95 - that's steep!
My husband and I ordered a a chocolate raspberry mousse and a coffee. The raspberry filling was a solid gelled disc! I have no idea how old this thing was!
Coffee had to be double cupped (what a waste of resources) because there were no cup sleeves. It is what it is.
The dining area felt dirty with unbussed tables and peeling posters on the wall. I just feel like they've given up as the shelves are filled with bags of puffed Cheetos for sale rather than anything French.
This is just such an offense to me as a Vegas resident and a graduate of UNLV. Not even 3 miles away is UNLV's hotel management program that is neck and neck with Ivy League's Cornell's hotel management program for #1 program in the US. There is a wealth of talent and knowledge in Caesar's backyard. They have access to talent to make incredible French pastries. They have the theme and the built in patrons to make French pastries. Yet they're selling old factory made desserts and packaged chips.
Someone or many someones in corporate has dropped the ball and shouldn't be working in their position. It is such an offense to charge people to park at these properties and then not take any pride in the execution of the overpriced food at the property. FOR SHAME.

Read moreLast Friday I visited the Cafe Belle Madeleine & the though the tomato feuillete & "bear claw" was good the quiche was not good at all, however that is not at all the issue with this place. 1st THE EMPLOYEES SUCK rude, fat, unkempt, slow, complacent, lazy & disorganized. It took us over 40 minutes to ORDER our food despite the fact there was only 5 people in front of us, 2 registers open & at least 4 employees. When we ordered we were told it would take 35-45 minutes for our quiche & feuillete because they had not preheated the oven, mind you this is at 11:22 am. We said we'd take them cold as we were needing to check out within a half our, she rang me up & said 21.08 the quiche & feuillete were $6.50 each & the small triangular "bear claw" had not sign but I assumed it was less so I checked with Sulma that there was 3 items, the quiche, feuillete & bear claw. She said yes so I gave her $25 & she threw the receipt in the bag as she grabbed our items (with no gloves tissue or tongs YUCK!) & we angrily left after griping about their incompetence & newfound lack of pride in the Las Vegas service industry. After check out I realized I was actually charged for 2 quiches & the feuillete, probably only a difference of $2 which I would have left as a tip anyways had the service not been awful but the point remains the same. Overcharged for OK food with...
Read moreThe cheesecake was amazing. The service was incredibly lousy. I asked for one large and one small iced coffee. When the cashier rings me up, I tell her what I had ordered, and she looks at the beverages her coworker made and tells me I had ordered two iced lattes. After explaining my order again, she informed me that, "well these are iced lattes so you have to pay for them." Despite being polite and telling her that I simply ordered ice coffees so whatever the drinks were that they had made, I would take them so they didn't have to remake my drinks, but that I wanted to pay the price of iced coffees, what I had ordered and they had gotten wrong. In the end, she threw away the two drinks they had erroneously made and made one large iced coffee and then I'm pretty sure she proceeded to charge me for a large iced latte again...at this point I was done being polite and explaining my order versus what they made and rang up so I just paid. There are no prices posted so who knows? The service at the little convience store next door was exceedingly better than...
