We were really looking forward to dining at Cheri Rooftop as part of a big celebration for my cousin’s 10-year anniversary. A group of 11 of us planned this trip for months, and this was supposed to be a highlight of our Vegas weekend. Unfortunately, it ended up being one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had.
To start on a positive note, the venue itself is absolutely beautiful, and our reservation was ready within about 5 minutes. We grabbed drinks at the bar before being seated, and thank goodness we did, because we ended up spending over 3 hours here, mostly just waiting.
We didn’t see a server for the first 30 minutes, then waited another 30 minutes just to get drinks (some of which were wrong or forgotten entirely). Our server repeatedly said she’d be back to take our food order… but we were still waiting over an hour and a half into the evening. We even approached a manager and a busboy just to try to place an order.
By the time appetizers arrived (nearly 45 minutes after ordering), we were already fed up. Several of us had ordered a special that came with a martini… and were told the bar was now closed, before we’d even gotten our food. They said we could walk over to another bar and open a separate tab for more drinks, which was absurd at a high-end restaurant. Why couldn’t our server just get us drinks?
Then things took a hard turn. Around 10:30 PM, they dimmed the lights and turned off the misters, and the entire atmosphere shifted into full-blown nightclub mode, dark, hot, and so loud we couldn’t even talk. We were still eating, using lights from other tables just to see our food. It was uncomfortable and honestly inappropriate for what was supposed to be a classy dinner.
When food finally came (around 11 PM), most of the orders were wrong, and again, no one knew who had ordered what. My steak was so rare I needed steak sauce, but there was no way I was waiting another 30 minutes for anything else. By the end of the night, we were the only table left eating. They literally moved a wall to kick off some over-the-top club event, complete with half-naked people dancing a few feet away from our table. All while we were spending $100+ per person.
We asked for the manager multiple times and were ignored. When she finally showed up, she apologized and offered 15% off the bill, which honestly felt like a joke after what we had just endured.
I’m sure I’m forgetting more because I’m actively trying to block it out. I really hope this was just a one-off terrible night for Cheri Rooftop, because if this is the norm, I have no idea how they’re still...
Read moreWent to Chéri Rooftop at the Paris Hotel on the strip and it was a great experience with breathtaking views and an unmistakable Parisian charm. Located on the third floor, the entrance is simply magnificent. You’re greeted by a stunning hallway lined with oversized frames, elegant lamps, and rich Parisian hues that set the tone for what’s to come. After taking the elevator to the third floor, the doors open to reveal a lush wall of greenery and twinkling lights, instantly transporting you to a chic rooftop oasis.
The setting is truly spectacular—an open-air restaurant nestled beneath the Eiffel Tower replica that makes you feel as though you’ve been whisked away to Paris. The seating is a mix of well-appointed tables and cozy couches, and we were lucky enough to be seated at one of the best spots in the house, with a direct view of the Las Vegas Strip and the iconic Bellagio fountains. As we enjoyed our lunch, the fountains provided a mesmerizing, ever-changing show that added an extra touch of magic to the experience.
We started with cocktails, and both were exceptional. I ordered the Ooh La La, a refreshing blend of Rémy Martin Cognac, mango, fresh orange, mint, and club soda. Kath chose the Cucumber Cooler, featuring yuzu, lime, cucumber, mint, and club soda. Both drinks were vibrant, well-balanced, and the perfect start to our meal.
Sticking with the French theme, we opted for crepes for lunch, and they did not disappoint. We tried the Chicken & Mushroom crepe, which was savory and perfectly seasoned, and the Nutella & Strawberry crepe topped with Chantilly cream—an absolute delight. Both were beautifully presented and tasted just as amazing as they looked.
The service was wonderful. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, ensuring we had a seamless dining experience. The weather was ideal for an alfresco lunch, making the entire experience even more enjoyable.
Chéri Rooftop is a little gem in the heart of the Strip. With its gorgeous ambiance, delicious food, and exceptional service, it’s the perfect spot for a romantic evening or a leisurely lunch with unbeatable views. We had such a wonderful time and can’t wait to return—next time, we’ll be back for dinner to see the Strip lit...
