This place is a joke. I wish I could share pictures. The seventytwo year old waiter acted as though he could barely understand English which was obvious after my order came out. I ordered the Vermicelli Al Pomodoro wich is explained on the menu as follows : Angel hair pasta with fresh chopped tomatoes, marinara sauce, fresh basil, garlic & extra virgin olive oil. My simple request; no marinara sauce. Which nearly gave the pompous waiter a stroke. He spouted a bunch of nonsense about being against restaurant policy and how it would be my fault if I didn't like the food, followed by another sentence I couldn't understand through his heavily accented and probably fake Italian accent. When he brought over the food and exclaimed bon appetit he placed a bowl of plain corkscrew pasta in front of me. That's right, no tomatoes, no basil, no garlic or extra virgin olive oil. Didn't even bring the correct type pasta. The only thing the imbecile got right, "No marinara sauce." After further thought - looking at my table mates order, remembering the restaurants policy of not wanting to customize orders, and the speed at which we got our orders, the reason my order was such a difficult task for them became apparent: nothing there is fresh. Everything besides the pasta is either canned or in a jar. They couldn't simply remove the marinara sauce without removing the aforementioned fresh vegetables. Why they couldn't even distinguish angel hair from corkscrew is beyond me. Perhaps the entire order was a frozen prepackaged meal, unlikely as it came to table fairly quickly. All said and done, it cost me 23.00 for a .50 bowl of undercooked corkscrew pasta. I'd have given them zero stars if possible. Avoid this place like the plague. Hey Mario, time to retire or maybe get a job greeting people at Walmart where it'll be easier for...
Read moreNEVER EVER EAT THERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET HUMILIATED BY THE STAFF I’m 43 years old and I travel a lot which makes me eat out a lot so I’m very custom to all different kind of restaurants from the hotdog cart to the Michelin restaurants and everything in between and today I had the WORST experience ever in my life . I walked in with my mother and wife , stood there for few minutes while the hostess is on the phone . I tried to get her attention but without looking at me she said she is transferring a call for her manager . I asked her again to check on my reservation so first she said she can’t find then she said we are party of 7 ( only 3) and all this while she was still on the phone and finally she got off so I asked her what’s her job description because as far as I know her job is to greet my family and walk us to our table but instead she said she will get her manager ( Jose Olascoaga) who came straight to me saying he will call security claiming I was yelling which no way I’ll be yelling in the middle of the Venetian but somehow not a single soul is looking at me and that’s simply because I was not yelling or screaming but apparently the manager didn’t actually want to hear what happened but rather score a point which is outrageous giving the fact my mother came on scooter because she is handicapped, he didn’t care trying to solve the issue , he called security which by that time I had already left . I started 20 years ago as a dish washer and respect every job inside the restaurant but what happened at Canaletto was not about servicing or doing what’s right but more about showing off and taking advantage of a family with a handicapped grandmother because Jose knew I would leave and not my mother through this . NEVER...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Canaletto and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the beautiful atmosphere. The decor seamlessly blends modern elegance with rustic charm, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. Soft lighting and tasteful Italian atmosphere enhance the dining experience.
The food was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was a masterpiece, showcasing the rich flavors and fresh ingredients that Italian cuisine is known for. I started with the salad, which was bursting with flavor, thanks to the perfectly ripe tomatoes and creamy mozzarella. For the main course, I opted for the house-made pasta, which was cooked to perfection and accompanied by a rich, savory sauce. The CANNOLI SICILIANI for dessert was the best I’ve ever had just the right amount of sweetness.
What truly set this restaurant apart was the exceptional service. The staff, Rafael, was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food he was serving. They provided excellent wine recommendations and ensured that our dining experience was flawless from start to finish.
Overall, Canaletto is a gem that offers amazing food, great service, and a beautiful atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner or a special place to celebrate with friends, this restaurant is a perfect choice. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their...
