I was looking forward to enjoying a lobster roll with lobster bisque. Unfortunately, the service was not adequate and I witnessed a health code violation.
My experience:
I walked up to order. There are people in front of me. They weren’t talking to the order taker and neither was he. We all stood there for about 5 minutes before he looks at me and asks if I know what I’d like to order. I came prepared and knew what I wanted. The people in front of me were just looking at the menu trying to figure out what they wanted. I get it, a new place, look over the menu. The order taker could have pushed them to the side and kept the line going.
I order a warm lobster roll and lobster bisque as a side. I requested it be put into a bread bowl. He checks to see if that is possible. Sorry, we can’t do that… so I order chowder fries as the side. Then order a lobster bisque in a bread bowl for an additional $13.
I place my order, for some reason I’m asked to give a tip for placing an order… I get it if you’re providing a service, like bring food to a table, refilling drinks, etc. this was a fast food order process. I was given a number.
I wasn’t asked if this order was for here or to go after the order was entered. I immediately told the order taker it was a to go order. He went and told someone and I thought it was good.
I waited about 20 minutes before my food was delivered to me… as a dine in option. Mind you, all 3 products were on this tray. I politely asked if she could make this into a to go order. She obliged. I watched her start to package all of the food up, except the bread bowl. It was put back under the warming lamp. The other two items were delivered to another patron as a to go order. Health Code Violation #1 This food was already in front of me previously.
I continue to watch the patron who received my food and he promptly returned the food stating it wasn’t what he wanted. After a brief discussion, the order taker gave him something and he returned to where he picked up his food. A few minutes later, he returned the lobster roll and fries.
I watched that returned lobster roll the entire time and then they tried to give it to me as part of my order. I said, nope, I want a new one. Health Code Violation #2
Instead of throwing it away, they bring it into the back not in my view anymore. I immediately demanded a refund. I had no clue what was going on back there. They would either try to use the same food or do something malicious to the new food.
They gave me a refund and apologized. I was not irate, but very disappointed. The ordering atmosphere was absolute chaos.
Recommendations for management, streamline your process. It was so disorganized. Also, I don’t know what the laws of Nevada are, but there needs to be some accountability for self governing your own food violations. I could see one of the female workers took her time before using the food already given to another customer to be given to me. She made a...
Read moreI decided to take a short break from the slot machines to find a quick nosh and stumbled upon Lobster ME. It was in a "food court" type of area in the Venetian Hotel Casino (upper floor.) I wasn't looking for a fancy experience because I really wanted something delicious and quick so that I could get some sustenance in and get back to playing. Lobster ME has a few small tables in a sitting area and it also has a bar area with stools. My first impression was that it was very clean and the service was fast. It was busy and I noticed there were a lot of people ordering food to go from there as well. This made me think that it must be good. The food is made to order on the fly so nothing is sitting around getting cold. The menu is pretty simple and non mind boggling, mostly as the name suggests, Maine Lobster served with a choice of various sides and comfort items such as Lobster mac & cheese etc. (*Google menu) Everything on the menu looks delicious and I'm not NOT recommending trying all things they have to offer but IMO the ONLY thing to order is the Lobster Roll served "Connecticut" style (warm with melted butter on a soft toasted roll) I mean c'mon... this is what the name implies they do best! It was SO fresh, delicious and abundant, I was sad when I got to the end. I ordered their clam chowder on the side for an extra $1 (best way to go) and a separate side of Cajun waffle fries (perfectly seasoned and crispy.) The service was excellent and fast, I sat at the bar and ate my lunch solo and the women behind the counter were extremely attentive. The Lobster was as expected, incredibly fresh and the chowder was a big yummy thumbs up as well (plenty of clams!!!) It was all very well priced and I left feeling physically AND emotionally satisfied and ready to go back out and play more "Wheel of Fortune." *As a side note they offer a variety of beverages as well as alcohol (of course.... 'cause...
Read moreSurprisingly good food and super friendly staff! Great experience overall. Highly recommend it.
I popped in the restaurant unplanned, just randomly saw the restaurant late in afternoon while walking by and feeling hungry. and I'm so glad I stopped by. I ordered the lobster roll hot and the lobster bisque on recommendation from lady taking my order. She's so sweet and friendly!
There was just enough seating, and I was able sit at the table and wait. and when the food was ready they take it to your table.
And I was in love on first bite into the lobster roll. I was seasoned perfectly in combo with the bread. But what takes it over the top is the lobster bisque. OMG, that bisque is out of this world. Extremely tasty and with a small dune of lobster meat stacked on top when they gave it to you. I mixed those in, and it's just amazing in taste and texture. I can't remember last time I had something so rich and tasty and satisfying!
I wouldn't mind just getting the lobster bisque by itself.
Bottom line, get the lobster roll and the lobster bisque combo. It's so worth it if you want to give...
