I booked the "MVP Experience Retreat" on a random Monday afternoon. Little did I know, we would be sitting on couches with shin-high tables serving as our dining area. I tried to surprise my parents with this dinner. They were surprised but for none of the right reasons. AT NO POINT did the Manager or Chef come to our table or even make eye contact with us (which was to be included in the experience.) So what exactly did I book this experience for? Granted, the couches were comfortable, but this it's NOT something I will ever do again, or recommend to anyone I know. After my almost 40 trips to Vegas, I feel cheated and embarrassed that I suggested this restaurant for me and my parents. The staff was great but I got screwed out of $90 for a less than...
Read moreWhile in Las Vegas, my friends and I decided to try out this restaurant. I called and made a reservation for 7:00pm on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. We arrived exactly at 7:00pm and were immediately seated. The busboy, Drew, immediately came to the table and served us each a glass of ice water. So far so good. Well, we waited and waited and waited for a server to come to our table. At 7:45pm, I went to the bar and asked one of the bartenders if he could call over the manager to our table. He said sure, no problem. Again, we waited. At 8:00pm, I stopped one of the busboys and asked if he would go ask the manager to come to our table as we still had no one come to take our order. The busboy came back and said he told the manager I wanted to see her. At 8:10pm, I flagged down the same busboy and went with him to the kitchen to see the manager myself. Figured if she won’t come to me, then I will go to her! The busboy stopped me and said that I was not allowed to go into the kitchen, but that he would go and tell the manager, Janice, that I wanted to speak to her. When he came back, he said that she was unable to come speak to me, but that the meal would be comped. When I got back to the table, a server who was not our initial server, had come to take the order. I was told by my friends, that he was not a happy camper! Apparently, he had been pulled from his section to wait on us. When he came back to the table, I pulled him to the side and asked his name. His name was Steve. I told him that supposedly the meal had been comped by Janice, but to please verify this. I also told him that even though the meal would be comped, that we would still tip him accordingly. His attitude then changed and he was very polite and attentive. Now to the food. Since it was now over an hour plus that we had been waiting, one member of our party decided it was too late to eat a meal, so she ordered dessert. She ordered the brownie brookie (?). When it came out, she couldn’t even eat the brownie part of the dessert. It was hard or even harder than a hockey puck! I took a video of her trying to cut it with a knife, but she was unsuccessful. One other member of our party ordered a salad but was dissatisfied as the only dressing that was offered to him was red wine vinegarette. He didn’t even finish it. I ordered the Mac and cheese brisket. Sorry to say, but kraft Mac and cheese from the box tasted better. Not only that, but the brisket was little cubes of meat sprinkled over the top of the Mac and cheese. What a disappointment. Then came dessert for those who wanted it. My sister ordered something that was like an ice cream sandwich with mint ice cream between two chocolate wafers. She said the wafers were so hard that she only ate the ice cream. Oh, and the brownie Brookie, we asked the server about it and he said that one had been overcooked and he would bring out another one. Well…that one was just as hard. I ordered the most expensive dessert on the menu…$24.99! That also was a disappointment. Mostly whipped cream! Glad I didn’t have to pay for it. I would have been so mad! Overall, the experience at this restaurant is one we will never forget. The only good thing about it was the company. PS. One quarter of the restaurant was empty, so I can’t imagine what the service was so bad. Not even that, can’t understand why the manager didn’t even take the time to come check on us or even apologize for the delays....
Read moreI booked a room at Horseshoe for my daughter’s birthday and was looking for a good place to eat with my family. I am a huge fan of Guy Fieri and was excited to see he had a restaurant here.
We went for dinner on our first night. There was a 20 minute wait although the place was empty, no problem. We were seated in 20 mins.
We were seated and it took about 15 mins before some acknowledged we were there. Finally our waiter Blake (who looked pretty disheveled) came and took our drink order. We (party of 3) all ordered waters. He seemed annoyed by just the sight of us. We got our drinks from a very professional kind lady whose name started with a ‘K’ (I am bad with names) she was so enthusiastic and seemed to love her job! She gave us suggestions on what to order and I immediately wished she was our waitress. Anyways, we don’t eat a lot so we ordered the birria pizza for the 3 of us when Blake finally came to take our order. He chastised us saying it wouldn’t be enough. I told him that if we were still hungry we would order more and he took 2/3 menus and walked off. We sat with our waters for what seemed like forever while we watched other customers get VIP treatment from Blake as he made his best effort not to make eye contact with us.
We finally received our food (someone else brought it) and it was delicious 10/10. I have not a single complaint about the food. This was the best birria pizza I ever had.
Eventually, Blake came and asked if we wanted to order anything else. We said no because we were stuffed, we didn’t even finish the pizza.
We sat for about 20 mins as he checked on other ppl and ignored us. He made it an effort to not even make eye contact. We had to flag him down to get our check. He said “ ok I will be right back”. We watched him go to the computer for about 15 mins then he walked to the other side of the restaurant. Another 20 mins passed and he was no where in sight. My husband ended up getting up and finding “K” to see if she could help check us out. She apologized and I noticed when my husband got up Blake ran over to the computer. “K” apologized again as he got our check ready. My husband waited there and Blake gave no apology or concern. He then snatched the receipt out of the machine and handed the check to my husband with an attitude and without even acknowledging him. Needless to say he didn’t get a tip.
My daughter is 17 and knew enough to know that we were treated disrespectfully. This was supposed to be part of her bday and it was a disaster.
Again, I am a huge fan of Guy Fieri and we are from Ohio just like he is. I can’t imagine his plans in business included being rude to patrons/fans.
If you are still reading this I want you to know we were the only black customers in the restaurant at the time. Blake is not black.
I took my time to write this to bring awareness and I pray Mr. Fieri sees this.
I want to end by saying this is directed to the poor service Blake provided. The quality and quantity of the food was superb. And the server “K” and everyone else were exceptional! Again I am bad with names and the only reason I know Blake’s name is because it’s on my receipt which I...
