I dined at Hakkasan Restaurant for their limited pop-up Yauatcha Endless Dim Sum Brunch with a large group in our party.
Parking & Special Entrance: Hakkasan Restaurant has its own valet so be sure to take advantage of this otherwise you’ll be walking from the far garage structure. To find the valet for Hakkasan, head to MGM’s valet and drive past it and head to the end of the building, turn right, and you’ll see it on the far right. Refer to my photo. There is a special entrance for Hakkasan diners from the valet.
Finding Hakkasan: Once you’ve made your way through the special entrance and step foot into the casino, turn left and keep walking past the open poker room. Eventually you’ll see a grand staircase and, if you keep walking, you’ll see the itty bitty blueish-purplish Hakkasan Restaurant sign.
Entrance: The entrance is decorated with a floral tunnel creating an exciting ambiance. Then you’ll check in with the hostess once you get inside the restaurant.
Food and Special Diets: We ordered almost everything on the Yauatcha Endless Dim Sum Brunch menu. Having developed a nut and shellfish allergy as an adult foodie is just dreadful but I was assured by our server that they would be able to accommodate me. And they did. They thought out my own set of food separate from my party’s or made accommodations by eliminating nuts or just letting me know when something had nuts or shellfish.
What I did have was delicious. Here are the items we had: Shumai - Didn’t try this but my friends ordered another set because they loved it. Seafood Har Gau - Didn’t try this. Char siu Bao - honey-roasted pork in a fluffy steamed bun was delicious. One of my favorites! Vegetarian Egg Roll - Basic. Crispy Prawn Dumpling - Didn’t get to try this. Drunken Wonton - pork, sesame, peanut, chili oil, black vinegar sauce. They made mine without any chili oil and I’m pretty sure this is what made me get allergies after brunch. Crispy Duck Salad - pomelo, pine nuts, pomegranate, shallots. One of my favorites. They made a separate plate for me without the pine nuts. The pomelo made this delicious! Salt and Pepper Calamari - really good! Crispy Shrimp with Wasabi Mayo - Didn’t try this. Jasmine Tea Smoked Ribs - fall-off-the-bone pork ribs. Delicious flavor. Spicy Sesame Cold Noodles - Didn’t try this but my friends loved this dish. Stir-Fried Penang, Kway Teow Noodles - Didn’t try this but my friends said this was one of the top dishes. Egg Fried Rice - they brought this out for me as my friends had the shrimp fried rice. It was just basic but too oily. Shrimp Fried Rice Hand-Pulled Noodle (Hakka Noodles) - This mix of shimeji mushroom, egg, bean sprout and noodles were so delicious. I really enjoyed this! Sweet and Sour Pork - Decent General Tsao Chicken - Didn’t try this Roasted Branzino - My favorite (tied with the Crispy Duck Salad and the Salt & Pepper Calamari) Spikey Lemon - This was the best of the 3 desserts we ordered but it could have used more lemon. I expected more tartness. Milk Chocolate Parfait Seasonal Ice Cream & Sorbet (Black Sesame Cookies and Cream)
The service was great and very attentive. The food came out at a decent pace.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you have severe allergies. The food was beautifully plated and the ambiance was beautiful....
Read moreThis restaurant is part of the Hakkasan chain of restaurants, and it is located inside the MGM hotel, as far away from the reception as you can come. It is difficult to get a table at Hakkasan, so a reservation is recommended. We made a reservation for dinner on the same day, but we were lucky - the restaurant was completely full when we arrived, and walk-in customers were turned away.
The ambience is very nice, with Asian decorations, dark wood, and nice materials throughout. The lighting is very subdued, almost a bit too dark in some areas of the restaurant. This is one of the few restaurants in MGM that isn‘t very loud. You can have a nice conversation without having to make yourself heard over loud music or people trying to make themselves heard over loud music.
The staff is average. Our waiter was uninterested and boring, and didn‘t listen. We asked for the wine menu, but didn‘t get it. Our appetizers arrived, and then we asked to order some wine. The wines, like everywhere in Las Vegas, are grossly overpriced. An additional $150-$100 per bottle is standard in most restaurants. The main course was served before we were even half finished with the appetizers. The excuse was that there was a miscommunication in the kitchen. We sent the main courses back, and rather felt that the objective is to get customers fed and out the door as fast as possible so as to maximize revenue and profits.
The food is very good. We tried two menus and were pleased with almost all dishes. The presentation of the food was very nice, and the preparation of the dished impressed us as well. The servings are very big, much bigger than we would have expected for a menu with that many dishes, and we had trouble finishing everything.
If you want to have a good dinner with a good ambience, the Hakkasan restaurant is a good alternative. Hopefully you will get an attentive and engaging waiter.

Read moreFood was good 3 being average I'd say 3.5? 4 ?. Definitely had some flavor profiles that we enjoyed. It was nice to try Chinese food that wasn't same as any other. They unique in taste while providing a traditional dish. We order the set meal for $78 per person. Most definitely too much food just for two. Didnt know a 4 star restaurant allowed take out. I asked and that packed it up for us.... have to say though For the amount paid for the environment, service, food and drinks. AND the amount of stars received on review I expected more. For one the server didnt know anything about the items in the menu. Didnt know anything that was advertised. Even though advwrtised gin flight origins fun fact info was one of the few papers laid out! And when she went missing I asked whom I thought was a waitress if the set cost was per person the menu included all of the food or if we had to pick an app, a main, and a dessert. She said I dont know I'm the bartender. Do they never look t the menu? Have they never got curious as to what they serve? Truly s believer in a "high class resto" you need top of the line service with knowledge servers who can recommend dishes because we are willing to pay. That's why we are there!
The food was good in some dishes. Steamed dumpling assortments and shumai was on point. Calamari is fried calamari they fried it well with good batter. Egg Fried rice? you would think would be great I guess its meh if you're offered only egg fried rice so what should I expect I guess. Sweet and sour pork still crunchy even though they had drizzled sauce on top. It held up well maybe top 5. Now that's how you make it. * slow hand clap* everything else unmemorable. Drinks? Meh dont waste you money with a martini sized drink flavored in pink color flavor decorated with a cheesy flower or umbrella. The dessert.... gorgeous. But taste fell...
