In a corner of The Wynn is the charming Tower Suites Bar. Beyond the bar are some very comfortable lounging areas. Go there. The music is easy 70's (all the best) and the servers have mastered the art of being very attentive and friendly without pressure. The interior decor is shades of cream with pearlescent accents that just add to the elegant, easy vibe. Here there is no guilt in pulling out your laptop to finish up that last bit of work before your party gets checked in...and it's a $7 iced coffee.
Update (later on the Saturday night of the first lunar full moon):
On the night of the great first full moon of the lunar year, the Wynn wisely arranged for the traditional Dragon Lion Dance to clear bad mojo and raise the vibe with good luck. The dancing lovelies came right down to the front of bar where we were lucky enough to be sitting. If you know, you have the opportunity to feed the Dragon ($$$) under its tongue for tremendous luck in the new year. I fed the dragon 😎.
Barkeep Vince made my martini espresso a thing of beauty. And Gigi made sure I had some cashews: Bloody Mary and Truffle oil. I vote for le truffe -- addictingly good.
One thing: Bruichladdich is missing from their scotch menu BUT as Vince demonstrates, the Classic Laddie from the distillery in Islay is on the shelf...
Read moreA quality hotel. Very expensive for what it is - we paid about $1,500 for three days with an upgrade to the tower which I am not sure was any better than their regular rooms. Morning tea for two in the room was $42. Massage for two (50 minutes) was $504. Overcharged by about $180 which took a call to the tower desk to receive the promise of it being corrected. Was told by an offhand reception desk staffer that I should have checked out at reception to avoid such mistakes - but that's what I did! Received no apology. Asked for a phone call from a manager, but never received it. Was not fully informed about the upgrade benefits so we missed a dinner on the first night. Main pool under repair, but there was no statement of its unavailability when booking. Lessons learned: (1) It seems to me that you are treated as a cost unit, not a client with whom the hotel would like to make into a return customer, (2) Don't go in January, as that's when major repairs may be performed, (3) Be very clear about what you will receive in any upgrade. Read moreI recently stayed at the Wynn on business. We had a small event at the Tower Suites Bar and when I tell you that Edith and Janae went above and beyond to make sure that it was a smooth and enjoyable experience for our team, that does not even come close. The whole time they were on it. Every time a new person arrived, Janae was there ready to see what they wanted. Mind you she had other tables, and the bar was completely packed. Edith accommodated us and made sure everyone was comfortable. I will absolutely be planning to host more small events in this space when our team is in Vegas. Thank you so much to Edith and Janae, your customer service...
