Great visit to Charlie’s for an early dinner. The Turkey Club arrived hot with generous amounts of moist, hot turkey. Lots of fresh Avocado. Tomato slices were uniform and flavorful. Cheese and bread were toasted just right. Fries were perfect (there are a few ‘missing’ in the image provided). The Cobb salad had generous amounts of chicken, bacon, Avocado and Tomato. The Lettuce was fresh and uniformly chopped. The dressing was unique and made the salad most enjoyable (served in the side, as ordered).
As we walked in there were just a few patrons seated at the tables. We were welcomed by the hostess and the manager with a sincere greeting. Our server was attentive and responsive throughout our visit, even as the tables around us began to fill with other guests. As we waited for our meal, we watched as the manager helped other servers promptly deliver orders to tables in the restaurant. To us, this is real evidence of a genuine interest in the satisfaction of the customers - a hallmark of service at the Encore / Wynn properties.
The television screens in the restaurant area were all tuned to football. However, the projection screens in the sports book were large enough to allow us to easily watch a baseball game in progress. There seems to be something for everyone in the restaurant and sports book.
The only minor disappointment during our visit was the draft beers ordered during our dinner - ‘Singing Frog’ and ‘Kona Wave.’ Both had (in my opinion) strong Hops flavor. Since little information was presented on the menu regarding the beer selection, didn’t know what to expect with these two beers. However, both were served cold and were enjoyable nonetheless.

Read moreI didnt believe the bad reviews but now i do. I go to wynns a few times a month and spend money there. This time i sat in the sports section of Charlies with the big TVs. I ordered a entree and a coffee. The waitress told there is a 2 drink minimum. I thought, Well i did order a entree but ok ill order a diet coke too . Then she ask me if i have any allergies they should be aware of. She brings the diet and coffee the asks me do i want a running tab or something else., i said ill pay when im done. Then she keeps going on about me giving her my credit card to keep on file. I said no, ill pay when im done . Keeps going on about my credit card. Back and forth to the point of pestering me . All i did was come in and order an entree and 2 drinks and im being pestered. Finally i canceled the order because i was actually upset and said ill pay fro the drinks i got. I paid for my coffee of which i only took 2 sips of and my diet coke of which i did not touch. A manager came over and actually picked up for the waitrss and said shes doing her job . Yeh right , order a entree and 2 drinks and get pestered. Well at least i had enough class to pay for what was brought out (coffee and diet) even though i did not touch the diet, and leave a tip still. But the classy wynn hotel did not have enough class to just say to forget about your drinks. I actually feel i was harassed out , and ripped off for paying for what i...
Read moreMy overall grade for Charlie's Sports Bar is: D-
Before I get into this review, I want to emphasize that my experience is on a Saturday during college football season next to the Wynn sports book.
We've ended up at Charlie's 2 times in 2 years (this year included) because the sports book at the Wynn was full and not taking any further reservations for Saturday to watch college football.
While our experience last year was "ok", this year's experience has made us come to the conclusion that we will not return next year when we do our annual trip in 2024.
They open at 10:00 on Saturday and the minimum reservation time is 3 hours. We booked and asked for the breakfast items that were available the previous years. We found that there is no longer breakfast items available and what was available were just deep-fried bar food like onion rings, & pretzels, etc.
We tried to like the food, but at the end of the day, the only reason we don't grade this experience as an "F" is because it's right next to the Wynn sports book so that we could watch the games.
Perhaps if they: 1) offer breakfast - a real breakfast, and a deeper menu, we will not consider going back and 2) a better lunch menu like burgers, etc.
While the Wynn and its offerings are amazing, Charlie's during football season needs some work before we go back.
Make a better choice -...
