Visit on 9/21/2025 @ 5pm - WOW! Based on the mixed reviews here and Yelp, I wasn't sure what to expect. I am a local but have not dined at the Steakhouse in about 10 years. I was looking for a nice place to take a work colleague who was visiting our area. My friend had dined here a couple weeks ago and said it was great so I rolled the dice. I was impressed with the lobby and the dining room in general. It is has a nice, warm feeling. I asked for a booth which had a pleasant view of the garden. We were greeted by Sean our server who was an absolute delight! He was funny, charming and put everyone at ease right away. I had a feeling we were off to a good start when the bread arrived...it was a sliced sourdough? loaf and was warm and delicious! The butter was whipped and so soft...just wonderful. We order the Classic Ceasar and split it three ways, as Sean mentioned it was a big salad...and it was. The dressing was just right. For our main courses we chose the Harissa Shrimp, the 7oz Filet Mignon and the Smoked Pecan Crusted Salmon. My husband got the shrimp and he was moping up the sauce with the bread! He said it had a bit of a kick and he really enjoyed it. I got the salmon and I was delighted. The squash puree with the pecan crust was just perfect...it was so good! My colleague ordered the filet and said it was a bit "done" but said it tasted wonderful. We also ordered the loaded baked potatoes and while some of the reviews mentioned the toppings were skimpy, ours were not. My colleague really enjoyed the variety they offered. We were to full for dessert but look forward to trying those next time! I took off a star because the sides are all separate and that is annoying, and expensive. $11 for a baked potato? The hostess was just ok, not rude just not as welcoming as I would have expected but it was 5pm and they had just opened so maybe she hadn't warmed up yet. Overall, we will be back!

We came down from the SF Bay Area for a weekend in Paso. Because I was worried about traffic, I made an 8:45pm reservation. At 5:41pm, as we are slogging through traffic, I received a call from Lily at The Steak House. She was clear, and aggressive, that their kitchen closes at 9pm sharp and we needed to have our order in beforehand, and would we really be there? I explained our traffic situation and that there was nowhere we would rather be than NOT in traffic. She made it clear that we needed to hurry. I asked if we arrived early, could she seat us? She said the best she could do was 8:30pm and again we needed to order quickly. Fast forward to 8pm and we arrive at the Paso Robles Inn. We check in and hightail it over to the restaurant. Ava seated us promptly at 8:30pm and again made it clear that we needed to order ASAP. We received water and bread from a nice bus boy straight away who told us our server would be right over. So we sat... and we sat. At 8:50pm my boyfriend went in search of a server. Andrea came over to help us (it was pretty clear we'd been forgotten about and she was kindly filling in). We immediately ordered as we knew the kitchen was closing. Then we sat... We received our food at 9:40pm. I have read previous reviews mentioning under seasoned food, so I think the kitchen was trying to correct that. Both our entrees were salt licks. The salad we ordered was so overly salted that the moisture was leaching out of the greens. We were VERY hungry so we choked some down. Andrea was MIA. The ONLY reason that this review is not a 1 is that the wine list was very good, moderately priced and the Barbera we ordered was outstanding. The service was abysmal, the food was borderline inedible, and in light of that rude phone call telling us to hurry up and get there, the fact that we SAT so late when we were so tired was just insult to injury.

My family and I went in for Mother's day and were greeted at the front entrance with dry vomit and a wet floor sign, and the hour and a half we were there it was clear no one was in a rush to clean it. We went expecting a steakhouse, since the name is Paso Inn Steakhouse, and were given a limited brunch menu. Most of the party decided to get burgers, I decided to try the ribeye medium rare. When asked if they had paper napkins, one person said no, another brought a few bar napkins, and then finally a 3rd actually brought paper napkins. The burgers arrived after about 25 minutes. After another fifteen minutes I got up to see where my steak was, since our server had not returned to check on us. The steak arrived about 20 minutes after the burgers, it was medium-well and cold. I cancelled my order as everyone else was just about finished and I didn't want to wait any longer. As the manager wasn't working today we got to speak to the supervisor Travis who was rude and made no attempt to reconcile for the horrible experience and service we received. There are plenty of restaurants in Paso with good food and service, don't waste your time and money here.

I won't bury the lead for those in a hurry- While they bill themselves as a steakhouse, they seem unable to cook a steak to proper requested temperature and/or wait staff left the steak waiting too long as service was SLOW.

I wish I could have rated this place higher- as it came highly recommended. We arrived around 7:00pm and the place did not appear to be too busy. We were seated and waited a decent while for our server to show up to take an order. Looks like there was a two tier system to the server set up (maybe a bus and server). The secondary server who brought our waters and cleared our plates was fairly attentive. The wait staff working on the table near us also seemed to be pretty interactive with their table. We finally placed our order and it seemed the wait for our drinks and app took longer than normal. Upon ordering our steaks, I assumed I could trust a place that lauded itself a steakhouse to cook a solid medium steak. Typically, I'll order under just in case, but again, seeing as this was a steakhouse, I thought I'd be safe. Our appetizer was good although the seasoning seemed to be inconsistent. (For those wondering we had the Brussels Sprouts- when everything was melded together, it was absolutely delicious, but again, seasoning was inconsistent) Meanwhile, while we were eating our app- it appears our light above went out, and they insisted on trying to fix it, while we were eating. We had no problem with the lighting as it was, but they hauled out a ladder to fix this. After several attempts to fix the light (must have been a wiring issue) they gave up. Our food was brought out and my husband dug into his rare steak special. My steak was a NY Strip and had been sliced.I started to eat from the end and noticed I really didn't have any pink in the first slice. I didn't think too much of it, as I expect there to be ends on steak that get overcooked. I went to check the "underside" of my second piece and found it to also be completely cooked through. Upon examination, all pieces were like this. My husband, meanwhile was able to enjoy his steak. My husband was nearly half through his meal before our waiter stopped by to see how our food was. I addressed the issue with the steak. While the waiter did attempt to make right (offering to fire a new one up), I said it was pointless since my husband was almost through, and we didn't need leftovers, as we were at a hotel. Again, I'll say the staff did try to make it right (offering to bring us a dessert- though we weren't given a choice of what) and did take it off the bill. However, I thought it was important to write this review, since it was the most disappointing meal of our entire trip. Maybe it was just...
