Started going here about 8 months ago. First time it was definitely 5 star. I have been there 5 times total. Things have gone downhill since our first visit. First bad experience was a long wait for a server and the steak I ordered was so overcooked. Brought it to the attention of the manager. Manager was kind about it, and did not charge me for the meal. Last time I went, ordered a pizza after waiting more than 10 minutes before our server finally came to our table. Definitely not a pizza place. Very skimpy on sauce and way too much cheese. Kept this one to myself and decided if I want pizza again I will go somewhere else.
Today took me over the top. My wife and I arrived at 4:00 on March 1. We were seated and then proceeded to wait 15 minutes before we got a server to our table. One went by our table without acknowledging that we were there several times. So when the server came to the table she wasn’t excited to see us. My wife who never complains felt that the server really didn’t want to wait our table. Come to find out she was taking our table to help out the server who would have our table. We never even saw the other server the whole time we were sitting there and there were plenty of open tables so it did not appear to be too busy as this servers excuse. So, the server was not happy to see us and in condescending way asked is she could start us with drinks. We had waited far too long for an I don’t care attitude. so I mentioned that we would order drinks and our food because of the wait we just experienced. This server took it upon herself to talk down to me again with an attitude. At that point I looked at my wife and said let’s just go somewhere else. This experience ruined our date night. It ruined it so much that we have decided to never return. Our first two experiences were 5 star, but since the service, wait time, and deplorable server attitude has decided for us that we will look for a different restaurant going forward.
If I could rate this as a negative star I would, but I can only go a 1 star because that’s all they go down to. Lastly, I have been in the customer service business for 27 years. I have been a Director of Golf managing a golf course and restaurant. I as a manager would never accept this kind of service from my staff. This was this restaurants 3rd strike with me. They obviously don’t care about my business. Topping it all off, when I mentioned to wife to lets go somewhere else the server was quickly joyed with it, and said “good. See you later” and quickly left us sitting there. Done with this rude...
Read moreI have been going to BJs since 2009. Back then, things were good and I regarded it as a nice place for food and drinks. Over the last 10 years, though, the quality of the food and service have plummeted.
Last night I had a party of 5. It was. 20 minute wait, which was fine. After we got seated, the waiter took our drink orders and said he would be right back to take our order. It was several minutes before we saw him again. When we put in our order, one of the members of the party said they specifically wanted their appetizer order to come out with the rest of the food, also for their dessert order to be put in at the same time as the rest of the order so it would come out in a reasonable time.
The appetizer order came out and it seemed like the waiter forgot to put the rest of the order in. We didn’t see the rest of the food for at least 30 minutes.
When the rest of the food did finally come to our table, I was quite disappointed with what I ordered. Ribs are an art form, sure, but these ribs were awful. As I cut them apart, the meat - albeit minimal - was as hard as the bones!
The waiter kinda did a drive-by check-in on us and asked if everything was good. I didn’t want to wait another hour for potentially better meat so I just told him it was as good as it could be for the circumstances.
Right around then, the waiter told the one party member who ordered the dessert that he would put the order in right then, clearly ignoring the request for it to have gone in with the rest of the order.
It took a long while for us to see the waiter again. Nobody else stopped by the table. A couple of the people in my party used the restroom and said the cleanliness was abysmal. One of them approached a manager about it.
I get it, it’s hard to run a restaurant. But that’s no excuse. BJ’s quality has gone so low on the ratings scale over the last decade, and it’s disappointing. This visit that I’m describing of the Pearland location isn’t unique among the chain. I’ve come across it in Sugar Land and...
Read moreMy Hubby and I used to go to BJs Pearland at least twice per month, but the service has been declining for us over the past few months. Today was the worst! We went in for happy hour as usual and arrived at 5:30 pm. We were greeted at the door by the hostessand we informed her that we were there for happy hour. She then hand gestured to us to go sit wherever in the bar area. We found a booth to sit in and our waiter came over about 15 minutes later and said that he was going to go get the menus. We told him that we we're there for happy hour and wanted to order right away as the happy hour end time of 6:00pm was approaching. We gave the waiter our food order, but he kept saying "huh?" So we had to keep repeating it. Once he got it, he was about to walk away, so we quickly asked if we can order Dark Horse wine as well. He then said "we're out of that." I asked if there was a substitute for it and he said "no." My hubby asked if he could double check and he walked away from our booth and then came back and said the manager said "no!" When we asked about a different wine, the waiter then suggested a wine that was twice the amount of the Dark Horse. We declined. Our waiter did not bring us our food, another waitress did. Our waiter did not check on us, we had to flag him down for items that we needed. We told him that we belonged to the BJs rewards club and needed to give him our phone number. He typed in our number, and dropped off the bill without adding the reward that we earned. We had to flag him down again so that he could make adjustments. We left feeling unappreciated, devalued and dismissed with our experience at BJs...
