I recently ate here and my service was horribly terrible. The server whose name you can see, had a runny nose to the point my husband asked if she needed a tissue, she said it was allergies and continued to sniffle with snot coming from her nose. She was rocking back and forth at our menus as we ordered but her nose was almost touching the table from how far she was bending down. She kept reaching over our plates instead of reaching around. Her mannerism was terrible and her actions were that of someone who was not clear what they should be doing. She screws up the ticket, then when questioned about her mistakes she grew loud with me. I told her she was being argumentative and it was unnecessary as I needed to know how my bill was higher than it should be. She grabbed my husbands card and scanned it even though I asked for clarity first. Someone suggested a manager be called and I agreed as she yelled at me that her machine said one thing regarding the purchase and that she was going to get a manager. So he comes and I calmly explain to him the nastiness of her allergy situation first and then how she was argumentative rude and yelled at me. He still charged us full price and I had to insist that something more be done. He walks away and brings back a $20 gift card and gives it to my dad. At no time does he have his employee apologize and I shouldn’t have had to ask for a resolution. I was so mad I explained that my emotions wanted to flip the table over but my grown mind said I can just write this review to show how disgust am with her service, the hygiene, and the attitude of this establishment. I will never go back and I hope others who want to be treated with respect will not go here either. This was a favorite place for my family to meet up and now we will...
Read moreWe had been wanting to go to this place for some time. This morning we gave it a try. Big mistake.
The waitress didn’t get the order right. She seemed very confused. Things went abruptly downhill from there.
I ordered something called meat and pancakes. I ordered sausage. My partner ordered eggs over easy, bacon, one pancake, and an English muffin. She specifically ask for eggs over easy.
They brought our food. I had my partner’s English muffin , but no pancakes. She said she would go get them. But after five minutes I figured out they had forgotten to cook them. By the time they got there everything else was cold.
Short version: the eggs were cold and runny, nearly raw, the sausage was cheap, like hospital food, the bacon was like jerky, the English muffins were tough and chewy. My partner said she could hardly chew it. The hash browns were the only thing that wasn’t screwed up.
They brought our drinks in high ball glasses. Never offering a refill.
Then I got the bill. $54 for two people. $54 FOR TWO PEOPLE!! I wouldn’t mind paying a little extra if the food wasn’t so bad. We got a triple whammy; bad service, bad food and outrageous prices. Then they had the nerve to ask for a 20% tip! For what? The screwed up order or the bad food?
I don’t have to tell you that we won’t be back. But I will tell everyone I know that they should avoid this place at all costs. It is LITERALLY. the worst dining experience I have had in Peoria. We are both retired, with fixed incomes. So, dining out is a treat. This was definitely not a treat. McDonald’s Big Breakfast with pancakes is a better deal. These guys should be ashamed.
I see that they closed at 1:00 PM. I regret getting there before they closed. I would have saved myself a lot of...
Read moreWasn't thrilled with our first time visit. Food portions were very big though. Prices were somewhat high for the quality of food in my opinion. The omelette was overcooked, since it was brown and not fluffy. Didn't think the two pieces of toast were worth three dollars. They only have two jellies. Either blackberry or strawberry. You would think they would have grape. No Frank's hot sauce! Manager did come by a couple of times and was very friendly, but a person in his position should wear a decent uniform. Service started out slow, but was pretty good toward the end. First time I've dinned here in two years and I was very impressed compared to last time. The hostess was super friendly and cheerful. In fact all the employees were as were the numerous customers. The building was bright and cheerful inside and out. The waitresses even sang happy birthday to a group of diner's. The manager came around and visited all of the tables, etc. My paper napkin was large and pleasantly thick. Not like a tissue as in a lot of restaurants these days. Someone was constantly sweeping the floors if crumbs etc. I ordered two scrambled eggs with my breakfast and there had to be 3 or 4 eggs or they used turkey eggs. Ha! Ha! Lot of eggs for only two. My biscuit and gravy was very good with lots of sausage in the gravy and a biscuit that was huge! Love the Pancake coffee mugs they use in assorted colors. I could go on and on, but give them a try if you...
